Yes, you know exactly how I feel! That’s how I felt with the characters, like I could have connected with them more if the writing hadn’t been so whimsical.
That’s too bad that you bought all those books before you read anything from that author!
If it’s anything, at least it’s short of your ever curious about reading it! 👍🏻😁

I’ve read Wild Beauty by this same author and I found it incredibly hard to connect with the characters because the overly floral writing style became almost a drudgery to read. There was lots to like about the book...but I always felt that the purple prose kept me at an arm’s length from the real heart of the story I do however own this book, and another one by the author...I know. Rookie error buying three books together when you haven’t yet read anything by the author...but I was so sure I’d love them! I’m not sure I’ll ever read When the Moon was Ours because of that first reading experience
