Hi friends, happy Monday I hope you’re all doing well! Today I’m going to be posting my review of Benjamin Alire Sáenz’s novel The Inexplicable Logic of My Life.

The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by: Benjamin Alire Sáenz: Things are starting to change in Sal’s life, and he’s starting to think he doesn’t actually know who he is anymore. The mystery behind his history is starting to creep up on him and he’s starting to wonder if he’s like his biological father that he’s never met. As he enters his senior year of high school, life changes in ways he never could have expected but with his father, his best friend’s Sam and Fito by his side he begins to understand who he is. This was such a poetically written novel that the reader enjoyed immensely. Everything from the story to the characters the reader truly loved. This novel was emotionally heavy, but there were moments of lightness too. The plots were so moving and written with heart. Sáenz connected events from the beginning of the novel to the events from the end which was really clever. He really had a way with words that it really encapsulated the reader and it really transformed the characters. The coming of age story and the characters finding themselves out was heartwarming to read. Sáenz’s characters were truly real, yet flawed, which is what made them feel realistic. The things they went through really helped them grow as characters and helped them figure out who they were and who they were to become. The characters were just so memorable for their soul and their compassion; they could be so level-headed and they were always full of love. This was just a beautiful novel all around; it was fast-paced and full of heart.
