Hi guys, today I’m going to be reviewing the second book, The Burning World from Isaac Marion’s Warm Bodies trilogy.

January 2016:

First off I want to say that I’ve finally got my blog to look the way I want it, and I hope you guys like it just as much as I do! Second I can’t wait until the release of the follow up novel to this story, it comes out in August, which feels so far away! I did get my hands on a novella that is part of the story, so that was fun to read, and will tide me over until then!

April 2017:

Well, the second novel did tie me over, but I hate that I still have to wait until the end of this year for the last novel to be released. It feels like this series is taking too long to get through.

 

Warm Bodies by: Isaac Marion: It’s a story about zombies. The main character R- he can’t remember his whole name, is a zombie, but one day when a girl, Julie, comes around the airport where they live he decides to spare her, her life. From that moment on a connection is built around the two. He remembers her because he ate her boyfriend Perry. But she trusts him and they try to fight the good, which is to fight the plague that is attacking people. The novel was very interesting and the plotline was well written; not for a second was it boring. The way it ended makes it seem like there will be another book because they haven’t fought this plague yet. But the ending is a little shocking to say the least. Overall, it was a very entertaining read with a twist on a romantic story.

The New Hunger by: Isaac Marion: A novella, and a prequel to his novel Warm Bodies. In this short, the reader gets a glimpse into how the world became the way it is. Running through a world where the Dead are now waking up and roaming the streets, Nora and her younger brother Addie have to fight to stay alive, while Julie and her parents are driving around trying to find a safe place to call home. While this is happening, R is waking up and trying to figure out who he was before he was Dead. This short was really well written, and really gave the reader an insight into where characters came from. It was enjoyable to read, Marion has a way with using eloquent words that captivate his readers. On top of that the plots were really well thought out and crafted. Overall, this was a great addition to a novel that was just as captivating.

The Burning World by: Isaac Marion: R is learning to become human again, whatever may be left of his human self. Only now that he’s starting to speak, and love again, things change. A war is on the horizon, as a group are coming to restore things to how they used to be. R now starts to remember his past life, as much as he wants to forget it. This novel was very well written; the words had the reader captivated and wanting to read more, even when the plot got a little muddled as we jumped around a bit. The characters kinda grew; we got to see different sides of them, and that was interesting; in a good way. It was good to see R and learn more about the person he was before, and how that contrasts to the person he’s trying to become. It just sucks that we have to wait until the final book to really get into the war that is coming. Marion did a great job of letting the reader know it’s coming and that it won’t be pretty, it just sounds like it’s going to be a good war, and a good fight. It was the perfect set up, even if it did feel a little long. The concluding novel looks to be good from what we know in this novel. This was enjoyable, not the best, as it is the middle novel, but something to keep the reader interested in.
