Review: Summerlost

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Today I’m going to be posting my review of Ally Condie’s novel Summerlost.

Summerlost

Summerlost by: Ally Condie: After a tragic accident that took the life of her father and younger brother, Cedar and what’s left of her family, move to the town of Iron Creek for the summer. This is where she meets a boy named Leo who becomes her friend and opens up a world of mystery for her. This novel is about love, loss, friendships and all the things that surround you at twelve years old. Condie writes so passionately; her writing is raw and just so human and relatable, it really pulls at the reader’s heartstrings. This story was so magical and full of love and hope, underneath all the sadness. It painted the questions we all have about life, but in the point of view of a child. The story really took hold of the reader, getting lost along the way in this vivid tale. The characters were so honest and real which made us really care for them. This was masterfully crafted and truly heartwarming.
