My Bookish History Tag

Hi friends! I’m at it again with another tag! Today I’m participating in the My Bookish History Tag, thank you Jacquie @Rattle the Stars for tagging me!  Let’s get to this!

Rules:

  1. Link back to whoever tagged you.
  2. Discuss based on these questions, or create your own to help you out!

Do you have any childhood favorites (I’m thinking along the lines of those chapter books in elementary school)?

Hmm, I read a lot of Ramona, The Baby-Sitter’s Club, and Baby-Sitter’s Little Sister, gosh those were my fave!

Is there a book/series that really got your reading hobby snowballing?

Probably A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Are there any books you enjoyed, even though you had to read them for school?

This would require me remembering what I had to read. I liked Othello, and in university I really liked A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews.

Was there a book that changed the genres you read? (i.e. were you an avid reader of contemporary, but now it’s all about those dragons?)

No, not really. I love reading anything.

Are there any other books/series that hold a special place in your heart?

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, forever my favourite book.

What kind of bookworm are you now? You can mention anything. Can you easily read 100 books in 6 months? A slower reader? Are you a mood reader or do you set book goals? Do you hoard books? Do you have 79084 books on your TBR list?

I like to stick to a guided list that I make up every few weeks/months. That makes me feel like I’m knocking things off my never ending TBR. It depends on how I’m feeling if I can read 100 books in a short period of time, or if I have the time. Currently I don’t, with a full time job and life, reading can get hard, but I always strive to read at least 20 pages a day.

This would also be the perfect time to mention that I finished my Goodreads reading challenge last weekend!

I’m very proud of myself. I didn’t think I’d make it but I did! 😀

Do you have a shelfie for us?

It’s not the best image, but it’s one of my favourite shelves… all my others are kinda messy and I don’t want to show them off… yet.

  1. Great answers for this tag Meghan. Oh I loved the Series of Unfortunate Event books, are you excited for the Netflix show coming out soon, I definitely am! 😀 Congratulations as well on making it to your Goodreads Challenge this year. Will you be increasing the books on your list for next year? Also I loved your shelfie was well, I have the Cassandra Clare books myself but have yet to get around to reading them! 🙂

Thank you! I’m not sure yet. I fluctuate every year, last year it was 95 the year before 100, I may just do 100 next year. Oh thank you 😉 oh you haven’t read them? Well I hope when you do get around to them you like them!

      1. That’s all right. I am as well, the trailer that’s been released looks amazing so I have high hopes for the series now.
Well whatever you do I’ll wish you luck now for when it comes to completing it!
That’s all right, and I hope so too, I’ve heard so many good things about them so hopefully the books live up to the hype! 😀
