Hi friends, I hope you’re all doing well. Welcome back to another WWW Wednesday; I thought this would be a fun way to see a snapshot of what I’m reading!
Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
The Stand: I’m 69% of the way through; another couple of chapters with too much writing. We honestly didn’t need all the set up and all the dialogue. The reader gets it. I’m really starting to think an uncut version of this book wasn’t needed.
Extras: I’m 79% of the way through; there is quite a bit going on. After finding out about Tally, Aya must trust her to get her and her friends through what Tally has gotten them into. At this point, I’m just interested to see how this series comes to an end.
Lastly I’m reading A Map of Days by: Ransom Riggs. I haven’t read this before and this takes place right after the events of Library of Souls and it’s a bit of a slow start, but it’s still good. We’re getting a lot of Jacob torn between the two worlds.Â
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I finished my re-read of the first three Miss Peregrine’s novels. Library of Souls definitely did have this finality to it that I could see how this was the end. This novel was super fast-paced and action packed, more so than the first two novels. I’m really excited to see where the next novel goes as I’ve never read it.
I also finished The Umbrella Academy Vol. 1 by: Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. Since I read this after watching the TV show I feel like I kept comparing the two, but this was still really enjoyable, fast-paced and action packed. I don’t read graphic novels very often (or quite possibly ever) but this was a lot of fun to read; I will definitely picking up Vol. 2.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUâLL READ NEXT?
Since I really liked the first volume of the The Umbrella Academy Vol. 1 I plan on picking up Vol. 2 very, very soon. I also want to pick up the fifth book in Miss Peregrine’s series, The Conference of the Birds by: Ransom Riggs.
I’ve heard really good things about Umbrella Academy, but I still haven’t had the chance to read or watch it. I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying it! âşď¸â¤ď¸

I totally recommend it. To me, the TV show dived a lot deeper into the characters, but the comic does a great job of showing off each of the characters as individuals. I think that’s why I really like this, not only is the premise super cool, but the characters are all so different and diverse! đ

I kinda was done with the Miss Peregrine’s series after the 3rd book. I loved the whole concept, it’s very unique especially with the photographs included, but I honestly don’t think it needed continuation. Hope you’ll enjoy the 4th book anyway. And if you end up loving it, I might get it on Kindle đ

I agree with you, when I finished re-reading the 3rd book I was like ‘oh, this seems quite final’. Sure it was open ended and more could happen, but it also felt like a nice send off.
So far, I’m enjoying the 4th book… it’s lengthy (and the longest of them all at 480 pages) but it’s nice to be back in the world. There is a lot of set up happening so I’m hoping we get to some action soon!

I loved the original Miss Peregrine book and I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t read the rest of the series đ

I don’t think it’s embarrassing! I haven’t read them either, but I just started reading them and I’m liking it! đ
