Hello, and welcome to throwback Thursday! I hope everyone is having a lovely week. Today I’m going to be re-reviewing Elizabeth Chandler’s series Kissed by an Angel.

I wasn’t a big fan of this series, I remember reading it and thinking how cheesy it was, but it was the cheesiness that kept me reading. I specifically remember being on the public transit and this guy asked me what I was reading, my response “a stupid book”. He proceeded to ask me why I thought it was stupid, and all I could think was because it’s cheesy. I don’t know why I still remember this, but that is what comes to mind when this series is mentioned. Okay enough of my babbles.

Stars: 3 Stars (I guess I was being generous)

Kissed by an Angel, The Power of Love, Soulmates by: Elizabeth Chandler: This volume contains three novels in it, but it doesn’t feel like three different novels, but just a continuation of the story as if it were the next chapter. Ivy met Tristan. They fell in love. But Tristan dies, now he’s come back as an angel to try and help Ivy through, and to figure out the reason behind his death. Though the story reads like it was written by a teenager, and the story didn’t have anything new or different to add to make it stand out, the reader kept reading it because as stupid as it was, you wanted to figure out who it was, and once you knew, you wanted to know how the person was going to be punished. As much as the writing sucked, the suspense was held up pretty well.

Evercrossed by: Elizabeth Chandler: A Kissed by an Angel novel. This time new characters are introduced, but it’s still the same storyline. It’s been a year since Tristan’s death, and Ivy is trying to get over that. This time she meets a new guy, named yes… Guy. He can’t remember his name or anything about himself, or so Ivy thinks. Like the first novel in this series, it wasn’t the best storyline, but the suspense around this new guy makes it worth reading to figure out if what the reader thinks is right or wrong. Only the problem with this novel is that the author leaves the ending as a cliffhanger. This only means the next book in the series has to be read!

Everlasting by: Elizabeth Chandler: The sequel to Evercrossed, and another Kissed By an Angel novel. In this novel it continues where we left off in Evercrossed, Tristan has come back in the body of a murder, Luke, so Ivy is helping to prove that he is innocent. By the end the reader understands the story, but so many questions are left unanswered that it was a terrible ending for the novel. If this is the ending to the series, it had a lot of major flaws. If it isn’t the end of the series, the author should still have ended the book better. The reader is left in the dark. Overall, this series has taken turn after turn and it’s starting to get a little stale. It’s a cute series, but it gets boring fast.

Everafter by: Elizabeth Chandler: It looks as if there is a final novel after all, the final Kissed By an Angel novel. To say this was any better then the previous novel is false. This novel continued where we left off. The whole novel was trying to set Tristan free, though in the end it came down to some sacrifices. It can be seen as true love, but it felt really cheesy, the whole series was really cheesy. But overall, if you’re looking for a cute romantic story, with some plot twists of evil-type mystery, this is the series. The one thing about the whole series with the spirits and ghosts and angels, is that she tells you exactly how it is, though your brain wants to think something else. It kinda defeats the point of a mystery.
