Hi friends, happy Monday! Today I’m going to be posting my review of the second novel in the Pip Bartlett trilogy, Pip Bartlett’s Guide to Unicorn Training by: Jackson Pearce and Maggie Stiefvater.

Pip Bartlett’s Guide to Unicorn Training by: Jackson Pearce & Maggie Stiefvater: Pip Bartlett has special abilities to talk to magical creatures, but when it comes to training a very nervous unicorn, Regent Maximus, she has her hands full. With the help from her friend Tomas, the two of them get him ready for the unicorn competition. To add to that, someone is trying to cheat to win the competition, but Pip and Tomas are on the case. This novel was full of magic and fun adventures, plus a who whodunit plot to keep the reader on their toes. The overall plot was engaging and full of mystery; the secondary plots helped to enhance and develop the story, giving it a more rounded and rich reading experience. The addition of the pictures on multiple pages throughout the book also really added to the story and gave the reader a better understanding of the different creatures. This was a fast-paced and action packed story that was captivating. The characters were fun to read, their distinct personalities really shined through and the personalities given to the magical creatures was an added bonus. Seeing one of the characters start as the underdog and really get to shine was an inspiring character and story arc. All in all, this was a delightful second novel to Pip Bartlett’s stories on magical creatures.
