Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Hi! Welcome to Throwback Thursday! This week I’ll be going back to look at Stephen Chbosky’s novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I remember reading this when the movie was coming out and it was highly hyped. That didn’t stop me from enjoying it!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by: Stephen Chbosky: An amazing story told from the point of view from a 15-year-old boy who is just starting high school. The reader gets to be in his world for his first year of high school, and see how hard it is for him, through the ups and the downs. The story is told in the form of letters that the main character Charlie is writing to. The story takes anyone who reads it on a rollercoaster of emotions, and it’s fun, and sometimes it’s frustrating because it’s something that is incredibly relatable. At one point everyone has felt what he’s going through. A truly inspiring novel for the coming of age, age group.

  1. “Perks of Being a Wallflower” is a book everyone should read at least once. It really was a rollercoaster of emotions. I read it years ago and have forgotten most of what’s happened so I need to reread it soon.
