Review: Emma

Hello friends, it’s Thursday! Today I’m going to be posting my review of Jane Austen’s novel Emma.

Emma

Emma by: Jane Austen: Emma Woodhouse is just a young woman who believes she knows the ways of love and has become the matchmaker of her town, trying to set up her friends and family together. Even though her heart is in the right place, sometimes her set-ups are misled and can cause more damage than good. The lessons that Emma learns throughout the novel are worthy lessons that the reader finds relatable and enjoyable. This novel was really engaging and captivating. The plot left the reader flipping through pages wanting to know what would happen next. The ups and downs that these characters go through was exhilarating and just made for a great read. The writing was surprisingly light and made it easy to follow along, unlike a lot of classics where the writing can be very dense and hard to understand, this was the complete opposite. The characters were fun; they were cunning and smart and an overall a joy to read. Their journeys were a lot of fun to go on and their character arcs were very well established and executed. This novel had great characters, with relatable lessons to be learnt, entertaining plots and outstanding writing.
