Hi friends, I hope you are all doing well. Today I’m going to be posting my review of William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies.

Lord of the Flies by: William Golding: A plane full of schoolboys crashes on an island, leaving them stranded. With no adults around, the boys feel free to do as they please, a complete opposite from what they’ve known. Trying to create a society to form some sort of order is a lot easier said than done, and when the hope of being rescued starts to dwindle, emotions start to get out of hand. This novel was definitely enjoyable and was worth investing time into. The reader didn’t know what was going to happen to these characters; the amount of ups and downs that were in this short novel really kept the reader going. There were more gruesome scenes than the reader thought there were going to be, but that aside it was thrilling and certainly entertaining. The characters were just kids, but it really portrayed how mean kids can be. They were ruthless and cruel, yet it was still engrossing to read. Golding really created this narrative that is a representation of our political world; the parallels are uncanny, which made reading this a little scary, but still interesting and absorbing.
