WWW Wednesday #12 ðŸŒˆ

Hello friends! Welcome back to another WWW Wednesday! I thought this would be a fun way to see a snapshot of what I’m reading!

I hope you’re all continuing to stay safe. Today was a hot mess. Work started off okay… then just went off the rails. No one seemed to know what they were supposed to do and SO.MANY.EMAILS. It’s been a day. I hope you all had a better day than me! 😅

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

The Stand: I’m 22% of the way through; another two chapters that weren’t too long, but just didn’t move the story along much either. This has really been a slow going read.
Pretties: I’m 87% through; I’m very close to finishing this second instalment. It’s been really fast paced as we near the end. I wouldn’t be surprised if by next week I’m finished.
Lastly, I’m reading The Taking of Annie Thorne by: C.J. Tudor. I’m truly enjoying this, much like her first novel, this is deeply engrossing. I hate the similarities that I keep seeing between this and the Chalk Man, because they are quite similar stories, I want to like this on its own merits.

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

I finished When the Moon was Ours by: Anna-Marie McLemore. This had such very pretty writing, but that may not have been for me. It took away from the story, but it was definitely a beautiful story. I also finished Fractured by: Catherine McKenzie, wow this was super fast paced, I finished it in like a weekend I was so engrossed in the story. The ending was kinda meh, but the whole novel was really good… I really need to write my review!

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

The only change to my shelves is the fact that I have less than last week since the library is closed, and now everything non-essential (meaning book stores!) aren’t open.
My library pile consists of Heartless by: Marissa Meyer and A Shadow Bright and Burning by: Jessica Cluess.

Now, the books I bought before I knew were going to be staying home (but glad I bought): Chain of Cold by: Cassandra Claire and Anger is a Gift by: Mark Oshiro.

What are you all reading?

  1. Ha, SO MANY EMAILS pretty sums up the working from home experience. I feel like my eyes are going to burn up from staring at a screen all day instead of seeing actual people. Anyway… I hope you enjoy your reading time this week! It’s been a while, but I remember I really liked Uglies and Pretties when I read them.

    1. Doesn’t it? It can be so frustrating! I miss seeing people; sometimes it’s easier to get things done face-to-face. That’s why I’m always on the phone with my co-worker! 😂
I’m re-reading the Uglies series as I read it as a teen and I have no recollection of it! So far I really enjoyed Uglies, Pretties has been a little wishy-washy.

  2. I love the cover of Chain of Gold, but I still don’t think that I’ll read it 😀 I’m very nearly done listening to the Grace Year and only have a couple of chapters left of the second books in the Keeper of the Lost Cities, so I’m pretty sure I’ll finish both tonight. And then I can pick something new to read! Exciting!! 😀

    1. It is very pretty, but I understand where you’re coming from… gotta let go of Clare sometime! 😛
Wow, look at you go! Sounds like you’re really enjoying that series! I don’t know anything about it, but I’m glad to hear it’s working for you 🙂
Picking a new book is always very exciting! Have fun! 🙂
