Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday, I’m back at it again with another Top Ten Tuesday. Today’s topic is: Books I Disliked/Hated but Am Really Glad I Read. Let’s get into it! 🙂

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is Books I Disliked/Hated but Am Really Glad I Read. Let me just say that I never hate a book (although there are a few exceptions please see #5) but for everything else, I didn’t hate any of these books.

1. The Big Green Tent by: Lyudmila Ulitskaya. I didn’t hate this book at all, it just wasn’t for me, but I am glad I read it because it taught me more about Russian culture than I would have ever known.
2. Objective Troy by: Scott Shane. This was very political, and I’m not a political person. It was interesting, but not something I’d read again.
3. Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life by: William Finnegan. I’m not much into surfing so this wasn’t my cup of tea, but I learned a lot about surfing which was fun.
4. Paperweight by: Meg Haston. I learned things about body imagine and mental health from this book, but overall, not my favourite.
5. Lean In by: Sheryl Sandberg: I hated this book, I didn’t agree with things she stated, and as I read it I got angrier and angrier. But I’m glad that I read it to see and understand the minds of CEOs.
6. Rain: A Natural and Cultural History by: Cynthia Barnett. I now know more about rain than I’ve ever wanted to, although, if I’m being honest, I don’t remember much of this book: it was interesting though.
7. Twilight by: Stephanie Meyer. I’m not a big fan of the storytelling in these books, but I’m glad I read them because I would always want to know why they were so popular.
8. Earls Just Want to Have Fun by: Shana Galen. I don’t do romance. At all. This book helped me see that, so I’m glad I read it to figure that out.
9. Allegiant by: Veronica Roth. This is almost the same as Twilight. I’m glad I read it to say that I did, to finish the trilogy, because otherwise this book was just trash. #sorrynotsorry
10. House of Night by: P.C. Cast. Just this whole series, I’m glad I read it because I can say I made it through all 12 books! Booya!
