Review: Carrie

Hello, and welcome to Throwback Thursday! Today I’m going to be re-reviewing Stephen King’s novel Carrie.

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I love Stephen King. Years ago I decided I would try to read as much of his stuff as I could, and as much as it was great I loved the novels, I needed to take a break. Now I love to read his work every once in a while because now his writing feels fresh when I go to read it, and there is so much of his work I swear I will never run out!

Carrie

Carrie by: Stephen King: King’s first novel, regarded as a classic is about a girl named Carrie; she is different. Everyone makes fun of her because of how different she is. Her mother is religious beyond belief. One day, one of the girls wants her to belong, but that doesn’t turn out be a good thing. Prom night everything goes to hell. The novel is gripping and the reader can’t put it down it’s that good. The plot was disturbing, yet intense. King’s characters range from your typical high school teenagers to insane, yet diverse and dynamic ones. This novel was written with a creepy edge (similar to that of the Shining) that gives it that goose bump read. Overall, it was so worth the read if you’re into horror novels!
