Hello and Happy throwback Thursday! Today I’m going to be reviewing David Nicholls’ novel One Day.

Before I continue I wanted to just update you guys on some things going on my blog. So this is my last Throwback Thursday for a little while, I’m putting it on hold to start another segment called “Flashback Friday”. On Flashback Fridays I’m going to be posting photo blogs of all of my photos. So you’ll get past concerts, past trips, and just random photos. I know it has nothing to do with books, so I hope you guys still like it. So look out for that next Friday (April 7).

On to my review…

One Day by: David Nicholls: It’s July 15, 1988 and Dexter and Emma have finally met after graduating college. Starting their friendship, the two blossom together, promising to get together every year on July 15, and they do most of the time. This novel is about friendship in its truest sense. The person who is going to be there for you when you’re at your worst, the kind of person who is going to tell you off when you’re being an idiot and complete hardhead. The plot as definitely original and highly engrossing. The story can become so relatable at times that the reader can’t help but fall in love with this story. Reading about two characters for one day each year gives the reader just enough of their lives to keep them wanting to see how their lives turn out year in and year out. The characters are well crafted and completely dimensional. Dexter is hard to like but as the novel continues the reader can see the good in him, and he definitely develops throughout. This novel is a complete love story of love missed, love lost and love found, in all forms.
