Movie Review: Coco

Happy Friday my friends, here we are at the end of yet another week! Today I’m going to be posting my thoughts on the Disney movie Coco.

Coco

Coco: Young Miguel is very into music, his family on the other hand have banned it. Years ago after music tore their family apart they agreed to never speak, or play it again. Miguel wants to show he can be an accomplished musician, and in his haste to prove it he finds himself in the Land of the Dead finding more about his ancestry than he anticipated. This story was wonderfully told, the conflict was good, and the plot twist to the film was done just right. Seeing Miguel fight for his family, and what he believes in was so heartwarming and beautiful to watch. That ending; the viewer doesn’t see it coming and boy does it hit like a train. One minute the viewer is completely fine, the next, a beautiful sequence of events that has the viewer feeling so many emotions at once. The colour in this film was phenomenal, every scene was bursting with colour and it made it so enticing to watch; not just for kids, but for adults as well. This was another hit from Disney about a culture that not all viewers may know about, and showcasing the Mexican culture was educational in a fun way. This is definitely worth watching.

  1. Great review! I absolutely loved this movie. The use of color was so beautiful. And I definitely loved the way it dove into Mexican culture, both teaching and entertaining the audience. I hope Disney makes more movies like this focusing on different cultures!
