Hi everyone! Welcome back to TV Tuesday! This week I’ll be talking all about Awkward season 2!

So the season starts at a New Year’s Eve party. Jake wants to DTR and Matty just wants another chance with Jenna. So the triangle continues, plus Lissa wants to be friends with Jenna and Sadie looses all her friends… which was just Lissa.

By the end of the party Jenna picks Jake to kiss at midnight. I don’t know, Jake is such a girl, which I think they are trying to make him really sensitive and I just don’t like it.

Jenna tries to confront her mother about the letter and now her mother is trying to suck up to her. It’s just sad. Jenna doesn’t know what to do about this whole letter, she wants to tell her dad, but it’s not her secret to tell so she lets her mother do it.

So her mother actually does do it. I’m actually surprised she does it. He obviously gets mad and he leaves for a while. So what does her mother do… gets a hot tub. When her dad finds out, he is mad. I don’t understand this family dynamic.

Jenna is having a hard time with the whole Matty/Jake ordeal. Even though she chose Jake, Matty is not happy about that. There is a security tape that could get out and neither Jenna or Matty know what to do about that. They don’t know if they should tell Jake or not, or just wait for him to find out with everyone else.

Ming gets in with her people, the Asian crew who have all the info of the school… of everything. It’s a little wild to see Ming in her own plot. She asks them to find anything on the tapes. Turns out that they are good, and not on the tape. But Jenna still feels turmoil, as Jake wants to know about the other guy, but at the same time he doesn’t.

Plus she tells Jake that she loved the guy she was with. Jake shares this info with Matty because they are best friends and so what does Matty do, tells Jenna he loves her. Ugh. Now I hate Matty.

Hahahahaha Jake thinks that Jenna hates Matty. It could be the complete opposite. Matty is totally trying to sabotage their relationship and it’s super annoying.

Ugh so Matty put it in Jenna’s head that she’s the third wheel to Jake and Marty’s friendship. But if you look at it like that, then they would never have girlfriends they would be with each other all the time. But after Jenna yells at Matty, he actually lets up. Thank god.

So Jenna’s dad actually leaves them and this crushes her mom. So they are now going to church. Okay, she decides to go to church camp because she doesn’t want to spend a weekend with Jake and Matty, as they are trying to get Matty out of his funk by setting him up with someone and going on a double date.

Jenna has an interesting time at camp. Sadie shows up and tries to destroy Jenna. Well she manages to get through it.

She also blames herself for her parents separation, and camp helps her realize that it wasn’t.

Ugh. Lissa is friends with Sadie again. Why can’t she let her go?!

Valentine’s Day rolls around so Matty wants advice for a date, which Jenna thinks it’s Jake asking for information. Turns out it was for an actual date: Courtney. So Courtney gets the date Jenna wanted. They end up on a double date pretty much and it gets awkward and Jenna gets super jealous. But by the end of the night when Jake drives her home he tells her he loves her. And her response: awesome. Haha

Also that night, Ming and Tamara go to a singles party. Ming meets a guy, and Tamara gets her heart broken… again. She’s been chasing a boy named Ricky throughout the season and at that party she finds Ricky kissing their enemy, Sadie. And then Tamara pees her pants, really awkward.

Sadie and Ricky are now a thing, although it started off as just a fling, but now Sadie actually likes him. Like they are kinda perfect for each other because they are both mean, although Ricky is dumb and Sadie is at least somewhat smart.

So now Jenna doesn’t know what to do, she doesn’t know what to tell Jake because she doesn’t know how to she feels. Now she thinks she should have sex with him in order to figure out her feelings. They try hard to make plans to have sex, but well when you try to make plans for that, it never works out. Instead she makes a very public announcement that they will have sex, yikes.

So Jenna’s mom’s best friend Ali is in town and she’s going to get married. She’s getting married to an older man, Dan who happens to be Sadie’s uncle. That means that Jenna and Sadie will be at the same wedding. A wedding that is a total train wreck.

Ali invites a guy named Ben to the wedding. Ben is the guy Jenna’s mom was with first. And so she spends the night trying to get with her, Jenna spends the night trying to keep them apart, but that doesn’t keep them apart, because they kiss. Jenna calls for her dad, but Ali tells Jenna that her father isn’t the perfect guy that she thinks he is. Apparently he left a lot before Jenna was born.

Could Jake and Tamara become a thing? He goes to her defense and it’s cute. And I can just feel that they won’t last long.

Oh no Sadie let the cat out of the bag that his best friend was with Jenna first. So bam Jake breaks up with her in the middle of the wedding. I knew it was coming. It was only a matter of time.

Jake wants to know more and Matty won’t tell him anything. He says there’s nothing going on. But Jake won’t hear it.

Jenna finds her mom kissing Ben and decides to walk home. She gets home and who comes to say hi, Matty. They talk and complain, and then they kiss because Jenna admits that she may still be in love with him.

Right at that moment Jake listens to Jenna’s message that she’s in love with him and rushes to her house, only to see Jenna and Matty kissing. So who didn’t see that coming? We all knew that was going to happen, it was just a matter of time.

So now Jake is ignoring both Matty and Jenna. And all Jenna wants to do is make it up to Jake. Turns out that Jake took a picture of the two of them “cheating” on him, and he claims he knows everything.

Next thing she knows, Jenna’s blog has gone viral. And it turns out that Jenna is the one who made her blog public.

This exposes everyone in it. She becomes popular because everyone wants her opinion. Tamara is also popular and everyone is using her lingo haha.

Everyone finds out about Sadie and Ricky and that she has a cold sore from him, eek. But it really takes a toll on her mom. Everyone is calling her a horrible person because now the whole world knows she wrote the letter.

Plus her parents are together but not together, they’re just sleeping together. Jenna’s mom tells Jenna that her dad only stayed because of her because she wasn’t always a great guy. I’m kinda hoping that they stay a weird little family.

Uughhhh they turn it into a whole twilight scenario, Jake is Jacob the werewolf and Matty is Edward the vampire. But why.

So in order to pick which boy she wants to be with, she writes a do over fantasy to go back to the beginning and redo everything. This ultimately leads to not having sex with Matty, and so he introduces her to his group of friends and she becomes friends with Sadie and becomes a popular. Yikes. She becomes a colossal bitch. That means her friends she leaves behinds and it leads to Matty breaking up with her.

So she writes another story in favour of Jake. They both break it off with both their partners and Jake and Jenna actually have sex. Only turns out that Jake doesn’t feel the chemistry, but Jenna is in complete love. That’s when Jake wants to break up with Jenna, so she tells him she’s pregnant, when she’s not. So that ends that fantasy.

She thinks about choosing no one, but in the end she chooses Matty, but wants to still be friends with Jake. Sometimes you can’t always get what you want. I’m happy she chose Matty, I think I’ve said it, I like Matty more.

Oh no, now that she’s very happy with Matty, her parents (who are back together, yay) are sending her to Europe. So now she doesn’t know if she wants to stay or go to Europe. Jake has Lissa to deal with now, and he doesn’t want to be with her.

Speaking of crazy relationships, Ming and her boy Fred? We find out that he’s Becca’s ex, and Becca is the head of the Asian mafia. And she will kill both of them if she finds out about them. Even though they both really like each other they can’t be together.

OMG I WAS RIGHT?!? Tamara and Jake kiss, they are going to be together, I know it. I hate how Jenna doesn’t care for it. So instead of going to Europe she gives her spot to Tamara. Can we say jealous much?

Although she says she’s going to have the best summer with Matty. Hmm. Then Sadie finds Ricky cheating on her and it clues in, she’s a bitch and she goes to Tamara and Jenna for advice. Interesting, are they all going to become friends now?! This show is just filled with drama it’s almost insane. I’m not going to lie this show was very much pure entertainment for me. As much as some of the plots got to be tooooo much, you can’t stop watching!
