Hello friends, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re all having a good week. Today I’m going to be posting my review of the first novel in the Arc of a Scythe trilogy, Scythe by: Neal Shusterman.
Scythe by: Neal Shusterman: In the future, our bodies self-heal and no one dies, but population still needs to be controlled, this is where Scythes come in. The Scythes are trained soldiers who administer death. Citra and Rowan are just two teens when Scythe Faraday picks them to both be his apprentice… but having two apprentices is unheard of so a price must be paid. This novel was so original and so refreshing. Everything from the plots to the characters were just so good. The world building was so cool, such an intriguing world for a novel. The reader loved this futuristic world, and even though they have a few questions about it, hopefully the world will expand in the next novel. As for the plot, it left the reader wanting more. There were so many ups and downs that the reader didn’t see coming and the characters were captivating. At first the characters seemed kinda basic and stereotypical, but wow how wrong that judgement was; these characters were so smart and conniving. There were moments when the reader wanted to hate characters one minute and love them the next or vice versa. They were really developed and watching the two main characters grow from the beginning to the end of the novel was great. The reader can’t wait to see where the story is going to next because there are so many unfinished stories. The first book in this trilogy was fast-paced, full of action and adventure.
Thanks for your review! I love seeing people talk about this book!
