The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky

The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky by: Mackenzi Lee: Monty and Percy have been together a month but have yet to be alone together intimately. Monty is worried on Percy’s behalf because he knows that Percy’s never been intimate with anyone before and he has. Enlisting his sister’s help to get them alone, the two try to get to know each other better. This short story was interesting; it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. What was good and what worked was the way Lee talked about sex, being ready for it and opening up and talking about it. That was really well done and well explored here, especially for how short this was, it did a great job. It did give character growth to both characters. This reader still isn’t a fan of Monty, but you can see him trying here. He’s trying to be a better person for himself and for Percy, which gives his character a bit of credit. The reader wished we’d seen more from Percy’s perspective, especially knowing that this is really important to him so that was a bit of a letdown. Overall, if you’re a big shipper of this couple, this story is for you, otherwise there isn’t much else this story holds in terms of plot.
