Happy Wednesday my dear followers! Or maybe not, my Wednesday has been really busy, I haven’t even had five minutes to myself yet. I normally post all my blog stuff at work, but there was just no time today. Gah, it doesn’t even feel like Wednesday, with this week being a short week my brain has no idea what day it is! Anyways, today I’m going to be reviewing Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s novel The Nest.
I had such a hard time reviewing this novel because I was so disappointed with how it turned out- please excuse my blah review.
The Nest by: Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney: Every family has their issues, and the Plumb’s are no exception. When they find out the sum of money, which they refer to as “The Nest” has pretty much diminish due to oldest brother, Leo’s bad decisions, the three remaining siblings must re-evaluate their lives, and their savings. Throw into the mix marital issues, and dealing with sexuality the novel does have its appeal, but only if you care enough about the characters. Sweeney made the plot very centered around her characters, characters who were very well developed, but at times it felt like there was no plot. The reader felt like they were reading about people’s lives that at some point begged the question, who cares? The writing was very well articulated and words were thought out perfectly, but set to a dwindling plot it was hard to get into, and care about the story.
You’re not the only one who feels blah! I haven’t read this book but from everyone that has reviewed this book, they also didn’t like it. =/ If you’re reading another book now, I hope its going way better!

Ha! I am reading a new book, Stephen King’s End Watch & it’s going a lot better thank you! 🙂

There was a lot of hype over The Nest and even throughout the hype, I was like “meh” so I definitely won’t be reading it. I am happy you are enjoying your current read!
