Review: The Storyteller

Hi guys, happy Thursday! It’s been a drab, cool day and we were told that going back into the office may not be anywhere close to now, which feels sorta depressing; I hope you’re all staying safe and doing ok! Today I’m reviewing Traci Chee’s final novel in her Sea of Ink and Gold trilogy, The Storyteller.

You can read my review of book one: The Reader

The Storyteller

The Storyteller by: Traci Chee: The Book has always told what the future holds, but as much as Sefia wants to believe it, she feels she can try to rewrite the future with her powers. But when her powers just aren’t enough she summons the strongest and most daunting powers, once thought to be lost, to change fate and save Archer. This final chapter in the Reader trilogy was a non-stop, heart-pounding, rollercoaster of a ride. From the moment this novel started the plot took off; the stories that the reader navigated through were incredibly interesting and so full of emotion. The fact that this trilogy has always had this external ‘reader’ character, reading and telling Sefia they know what the future holds without telling her until she gets there was this mastermind of a plot that really propelled the reader into reading more. The reader just wanted to know what this character who knew all the answers knew. It left for some really masterful storytelling. The characters really had to prepare for what was to come and it made them do crazy things, but watching them do all of it was worth it, yet so heartbreaking. This novel was so well done, even though the sad moments this novel was a beautiful ending to a fun and exciting trilogy.
