Review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them [Original Screenplay]

Happy Monday! Today I’m going to be reviewing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them the Original Screen play by J.K. Rowling.

I can’t tell you how much I loved reading this! It was the perfect thing to read after watching the movie! 😄

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by: J.K. Rowling: It’s the 1920’s and Newt has just sailed over to New York from London with a trunk full of creatures. Accidentally setting them loose he must try to recover them all but obviously there are complications. One is dealing with the wizarding authorities in the USA, and two is having to deal with a No-Maj (muggle). It is so good to be back in the wizarding world, and this screenplay really gives us a sense of some of the beginnings. First off this play really showcases friendship in its simplest form, and really plays on it. That is what really drove the plot, and the character development throughout was just so well done. The idea for this screenplay was just so brilliant; based off a textbook in the original Harry Potter world, it gives us a backstory to not only what they study, but about the people in their past, giving this world an even deeper look. Second, the way they use magic slang is so brilliantly done, it was like giving this story another layer. So well-crafted with loveable characters this screenplay is worth the read.
