Happy Friday friends! I’m so happy it’s finally Friday! So in order to celebrate, why not a movie review? I finally got the chance to see Rogue One this past weekend… only a month after it was released. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a hard time making plans to see this movie, but alas here it is my review!

Rogue One: Galen Erso has been taken away from his family and roped into creating this weapon for the Empire, the Death Star. Years later his daughter Jyn joins a group of resistance fighters to help taken down the weapon knowing her father is the only one with the key to destroy it. The film was really well done; scenes started off slow and as the movie progressed and as the action began to pick up, the scenes got longer and were filled with more substance. They started off with little bits, and a lot of back and forth, but once the viewer was told the purpose of the mission, things really started moving, with less jumping around. The plot was well done and it helped put things from the previous films into perspective. The dialogue was done well, and of course some comic relief was added to move away from all the serious action that was going on. It looked like they were going to throw in a romantic plotline, but thank goodness it wasn’t followed through, and wasn’t shown because it would have taken away from everything that happened. The only downfall was that it didn’t feel like it needed to be two hours long, and it didn’t need to be seen in 3D; otherwise it was a fun, and entertaining movie that gave just a little bit more to the Stars Wars community and fans.
