Review: Fever Code

Hello my lovely friends, today I’m going to be reviewing Fever Code by James Dashner. This is part of his Maze Runner trilogy/series.

Fever Code

The Fever Code by: James Dashner: The beginning, before the beginning of The Maze Runner. In this novel, we get to find out how Thomas became Thomas, and how Teresa became Teresa. Taken by WICKED to escape their families who had the Flare, an ugly disease, to help find a cure. The two meet and become some of the best subjects WICKED have had. In this novel, the reader gets to find out how the maze was truly made, how it made Thomas and his friends feel, and a lot of the secrets that WICKED kept are revealed. The ending took the reader for a loop, and now we look at the whole series completely different. As the reader neared the ending, it was hinted, but the reader couldn’t be sure. The writing was done well; the short chapters left the reader just breezing through the novel. It was fast-paced, with quite a bit of action to keep the plot going. The plot was highly intense, especially for those who have read the series already. Something was always happening, and it was good to see the characters develop throughout the novel. The characters were written well, and it just felt like the perfect way to find out a little bit more about them. This novel was the answer to all fans questions, and it was done in a thoughtful way completing the series; this is definitely worth reading.

  1. I’ve debated reading this so many times, but I was so unhappy with the third book that I never picked it up. I needed to know it answered all the questions that weren’t answered before! Thanks for the review, you’ve now made me more curious. 🙂

  2. Great review for this book Meghan, this is one that is still on my to-read list but that I may get around to one day. I loved the first prequel book James Dashner wrote, I actually enjoyed it better than the actual trilogy, so I guess I have high hopes for this second prequel. Also knowing very little about Thomas and Theresa in the main series it will be interesting to discover more about them. 🙂
I’m glad to see you enjoyed this book.
