Review: The Darkest Part of the Forest

Hello, today I’m going to be reviewing Holly Black’s The Darkest Part of The Forest.

The Darkest Part of the Forest

The Darkest Part of the Forest: Set in a town called Fairfold where humans and fairies live together. Deep in a forest lies a glass coffin, and inside is a boy with horns. No one believes he will ever escape, until one day he does. This causes havoc in the town. Siblings Ben and Hazel have pretended to be knights fighting alongside the horned boy their whole lives, never thinking they would actually have to fight. It all comes down to the fairyfolk and the humans, who will win, you’ll have to read and find out. It’s an interesting novel that has a somewhat original plotline that is entertaining to readers who enjoy fairytale type novels. The characters had depth to them to keep the novel moving, but it just lacked in storytelling. It could have been executed a bit better. Overall, it’s worth a read if you like fairy tales.
