Happy Friday friends! Today I’m going to be reviewing the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
I feel bad because I still haven’t read the book yet (although I know I’m getting it for Christmas since I was in the store with my mom and I gave it to her for her to buy for me ha!). I feel like there is so much I want to say about this movie/book but I want to wait until I read the book, so my movie review I tried to stick just with critiquing the movie, and less on plot and character.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Passing through New York Newt has traveled from all over tracking and finding beasts to document them, when he bumps into a No-Maj (muggle) and some of the beasts get loose. When the wizards of New York find out, they think he’s done this on purpose; with the help of the No-Maj named Jacob, and two willing wizards, they set out to capture the beasts before it’s too late. Filled with mythical creatures, and high speed chases, mad-dashes and close calls, this film has a little taste of everything; even a budding romance. The film was done exceptionally well from the acting to the graphics; everything worked well together. From start to finish there was always something happening to keep the viewer interested and on their toes. Although the plots did waver from time to time, there was still something to look out for. The 3D in this film was not always needed. There were moments within the film that it really worked, and then there were others when it felt over used and didn’t enhance character development or plot. It all ended quite soundly; everything was tied up and no loose ends were left open, which left the viewer satisfied. Overall, this was a treat for any Harry Potter fan.
Wow! I want to see this movie. I heard that the movie is amazing.

I’m glad you liked it! I liked it, too, and cannot wait for the next movie (even though it’s not going to continue the story of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)!

Yay! I keep hearing that there is going to be another movie after this, but I have no idea what it’s about. Is it like this one where it’s based off one of the textbooks in Harry Potter? Which I have to say was quite a clever idea!

All I know is that it’s going to be set in Paris and not contain the same characters as the first movie. But that would be awesome (using textbooks for movie ideas). Gives us more of a sense of the world and history of magic… 😉

Ohhh this the first I’m hearing about it, but it does sound interesting!
Right?! That’s really big reason why I loved this movie, like how creative is that? 🙂

Great review for this film! I saw Fantastic Beasts at the cinema a few weeks back and read the screenplay pretty much immediately afterwards (I’m getting the hardcover for paperback but couldn’t resist getting the Kindle version to read straight away).
I thought it was a brilliant film. I fell in love with the characters and the creatures and now I can’t wait for the second one to be released, both the film and the screenplay I guess! 😀
