Happy Friday beautiful people! 😃 Today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on the remake of Beauty and the Beast.
I have to say, I was really skeptical about this movie for a long time. I saw it on Netflix over and over and over, and finally I caved and watched it: not once, but twice! I loved it that much. I officially know all the words to all the songs because I’ve listened to the soundtrack so many times… yes I may have a problem 😝
Beauty and the Beast: Adapted from the 1991 animated classic by the same name comes a fun, and fantastical live action version to sweep viewers off their feet. When the Prince gets cursed for not loving enough, he is turned into a Beast and everyone who lives in the house becomes part of the furniture. To break the curse is true loves kiss and he has until the last rose petal dies to break it. When Belle’s father gets turned around in the woods she finds herself face to face with the beast, taken prisoner, could she be the one? The acting and the colours in this film are so bright and so beautiful that it really makes the film come to life. Although the beginning and first hour of the film feel rather long, filled with set up to the actual plot and song, but get to the middle of the film and you’ll forget that it took so long to get there, and it was all worth the wait. The chemistry between characters was beautiful, the dialogue was completely witty and hilarious. The music was whimsical and filled with songs new and old that made fans of the original bathe in nostalgia and new fans fall in love. All around, this was a charming movie that was re-done the right way.
This is probably one of my is not my favorite movies of 2017. which isn’t really saying much because I didn’t really watch movies last year.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney cartoons, and I like Emma Watson, so I went to see this in theatres. Sure, in some sense it’s a very close adaption to the original and one could ask what the point of redoing it was, but I thought it was so beautiful and magical.

It was a lovely remake. I was so worried about it not adding up to the original, but I honestly can’t tell you which one I like better!
