Review: Rising Strong

Hi everyone, happy Monday! I hope you are all off to a great start! 🙂 Today I’m going to be reviewing a non-fiction book, Rising Strong, by Brené Brown.

Rising Strong

Rising Strong by: Brené Brown: This book tackles the motion of ‘rising strong’ and overcoming the bad in our life and getting back on our feet after a fall, metaphorically and emotionally speaking. What makes this book so good is not only the fact that Brown gives examples from her own life, but she shows us that she is far from being perfect. She lets the reader in and becomes one with the reader making it eerily relatable. Because of this she doesn’t come off as self-righteous and all knowing, but as human and one with her audience, giving them understanding, telling them she’s been there. It also helps that when she herself doesn’t have a story, she has friends to tell their stories so it’s not all her personal experiences, giving the book a more rounded and thought out piece of work. Brown writes in lists, as she mentions in the book, and it helps the overall flow of the book; it makes it more organized and easier to read. It’s a fascinating read and something uplifting to read.
