The Book Fests Award

Hello my fellow friends, today I’ll be doing the Book Fests Award. I was tagged by Birdie @Birdie Bookworm, thank you so much. Now let’s get started! 🙂

RULES:

  • It’s always proper and the right thing to do, when you receive something from someone, you thank them. It’s the same with this award. You can link the blogger who presents the award blog in the post you use to fulfill the requirements of the award.
  • Answer the award questions that will be listed below.
  • Write a Fifty Word Story, because it’s fun.
  • Award five or more bloggers with this Award.
  • Ask them a question of your making, you’ll like them to answer.
  • Put up the award image badge on your blog via image widget.

AWARD QUESTIONS:

A book you started but never finished but want to finish. What stopped you from continuing to read it?

I started to read Tolstoy’s War and Peace but it was really long, and the pages were bible thin, I was also a full time university student who only had three weeks with the book before the library asked for it back. Suffice to say I did not manage to finish it, and I haven’t gotten around to taking it out again. I do want to read Tolstoy’s work, there’s just a lot of effort that goes into it.

What elements attract you to a book, which makes you need to read it?

Like Birdie said, the cover is the first thing that will attract me to any book. Next would be the buzz that surrounds the book. There’s also the factor if I’ve read work by the author already and I liked it then I’m all for reading more from them.

Which books do you prefer, e-copy or hard copy?

It’s hard copy all the way for me. I enjoy it because I can take the books with me. I don’t own a kindle or any type of e-reader. I do have a few apps on my laptop where I can take out e-library books, but I much prefer the act of holding a physical book.
Guys, you should have seen me lugging around IT by Stephen King for two weeks; the ladies at work were proud ha!

What book are you currently reading or going to read?

I’ve started reading Paperweight by Meg Haston, and then re-reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

Is it fair to judge a book by its film?

I don’t think so because there is so much film can’t possible show you about the book. There is only so much time in film, but with books, time is limitless.

What book did you badly judge by its cover and end up loving?

This is a hard one. I’m going to go with Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. The cover is kinda boring, but the story is beautiful.

Which book character have you felt the most kin with and able to relate with?

Another really hard question. I’m going to go with Delilah from Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha van Leer. I know it’s a fantasy, but I really related to her character.

BIRDIE’S QUESTION:

Who would you cast in the story of your life?

I’d love to say Sophia Bush, but my life is too boring for her. Ashley Rickard’s would be another good one.

50 WORD STORY:

It comes, and it goes; the smell of fresh dough rising wafted throughout the house. A rumbling could be felt in the pit of her stomach as she got closer and closer to the source of the smell. In the kitchen the oven door was propped open, where a fresh loaf of bread lay in wait.

-Inspired by my need to eat 😉

NOMINATIONS

Sophie @Blame Chocolate
Deanna @Deanna Writes About…
Lauren @Wonderless Reviews
Lois & David @Lois Reads Books

As always, don’t feel pressured to do the tag!

MY QUESTION FOR YOUIf you could make any character into a Sim, who would it be any why?
-I also have the Sims on the brain 😛

Okay that’s all from me, it’s been fun! 🙂

  1. How fun! It was a monster to read, but so good. I was shocked when my husband read Under the Dome. It’s mammoth.

I love your 50 word story, so cute and descriptive. 🙂

  3. Congratulations on the award, Meghan! And thank you so much for nominating me ❤️
Oh I always judge a book by its cover… However, I cannot live without my e-reader. I definitely would be lost without it (and read a lot less books!)
Ashley Rickards is too awesome for words! And I’d definitely want to read the story of your life, it doesn’t sound boring at all 😉 (if your recent travel posts are any indication!)
Lovely post! Made me hungry though XD

    1. Haha, lately I’m feeling that, especially if it’s 500 pages or more I’m like this is going to take forever!
