Review: The Good Goodbye

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I am beat- after a weekend full of events I’m ready to just kick back and relax. Today I’m going to be posting my review of Carla Buckley’s novel The Good Goodbye.

The Good Goodbye

The Good Goodbye by: Carla Buckley: Natalie Falcone’s life is slowly falling apart; her business is on the line, her marriage is slowly falling apart and on top of all this she gets a phone call no mother wants to receive, a call telling her, her daughter, Arden, has been in a fire. Arden, and her cousin, Rory have both been in a fire in their dorm room. Now it’s time to put the pieces together to solve the mystery behind the fire. This was a sad, yet well told story. The plot was good even though most of the novel was a mystery, but that was what kept the reader reading. Buckley kept giving her readers just a little bit, forcing the reader to continue, but in a good way. The characters were rounded and easy to read. The way Buckley introduced her characters was so well done and the way she lets us find out and discover who they are was so well done; it was some of the best character development. This was a good story with some feisty characters to really spark things up.
