The Ultimate Game of Thrones Book Tag

Hi guys! Happy Thursday! Today I’m going to be doing the Ultimate Game of Thrones book tag. Thank you to the sweet Alex @Whimsy Pages for tagging me! As I mentioned to Alex, it’s hard to believe that the show is coming to an end, but like everything, things have to end sometime. Now, onto the tag! 🙂

PART 1: Book Questions

“WE DO NOT SOW” – A BOOK YOU WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO INVEST IN

Talk about a whole series, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I have no interest in starting that series, like ever.

“FAMILY. DUTY. HONOUR.” – A BOOK ABOUT STRONG FAMILY TIES

I’m going to be hella cliché here, but the Weasley family from Harry Potter. Such a strong bond the lot of them have!

“WINTER IS COMING” – YOUR FAVOURITE WINTER READ

I don’t think I have a favourite winter read. Maybe a good mystery, or thriller. I really don’t have an answer for this.

“OURS IS THE FURY” – A BOOK THAT MADE YOU FURIOUS.

Gone Girl. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that made me that furious because she’s a freakin’ sociopath!

“FIRE AND BLOOD” – A BOOK THAT PRODUCED STRONG EMOTIONS IN YOU.

It’s not often a book will make me cry my eyes out but The Way I Used to Be by: Amber Smith had me in tears as well as Home is Burning by: Dan Marshall; I balled my eyes out reading the ending… me oh my.

“A LANNISTER ALWAYS PAYS HIS DEBTS” – A BOOK YOU FEEL INDEBTED TO.

Oh man, I’m not really sure. I want to say a book that really got me into reading, but that requires me to remember that 😅 I was going to go with my Arthur and Berenstain Bears collection as I read them pretty religiously as a kid, but then I thought about Junie B. Jones who I completely adored when I got a little older. Plus I always related to her, especially when her brother Olie was born 😂

PART 2:  My Game of Thrones

WOULD YOU WIN OR DIE?

Ohhhhhh I can beat you I would die… right away. I wouldn’t last a day in that world. I feel like I have no instincts to stay alive in such a cruel cruel world… although our actual world is pretty cruel 🙄

WHAT HOUSE ARE YOU IN? I TOOK THIS QUIZ TO FIND OUT!

I am apparently House Martell (can’t say I remember who they are… oops), but it’s very, very on brand for me 😂

Martell

You are charming and clever. You are also as close to progressive as Westeros gets, believing in such strange concepts as women inheriting property and children having the right to not be tortured for their parents’ mistakes. Really, you have everything going for you except for the grudge-holding and the cockiness – for the gods’ sake, take the time out of your day to stab your opponent twice, OK? I don’t care how dead he looks.

Okay, since I don’t know who is and isn’t a fan of GoT I leave this here for all the fans who want to do this because it was really fun! 🙂

    1. Nice! It sounds like a great house… out of all the options 😛
Right?! I wanted to put it down, but at the same time I couldn’t put it down! 😛

  1. I love Game of Thrones (well, kind of, I’m still a little bitter about how they ended everything) so I may have to take part in this tag myself! I love your answers for this one Meghan, when it comes to family ties there are very few bookish families who have a stronger bond than the Weasley’s, and when I talk about the Weasley’s I include Harry Potter because they pretty much all adopted him from the second they met him in the Philosopher’s Stone. 😀
I actually really like the Throne of Glass series, but it’s not for everyone I suppose, and with the length and amount of books I guess it’s a little intimidating to catch up on right?
Great post, and great answers for this tag. 🙂 ❤

    1. Oh no! I haven’t seen the last season yet!
Yes! Please take part, it was so much fun, especially finding out what house you are!
I agree Harry is part of the Weasley’s!
I’ve heard so many mixed reviews of them that I just don’t see them and think ‘oh I need to read those’ plus I’ve read some of her other stuff and it wasn’t my favourite!
      Thank you Beth! 🙂 ❤️

      1. The last season is an epic disappointment, so I’d say go in with lowered expectations.
It took me ages to finally pick up the first book, mainly because of the mixed reviews, I do love the series but if I hadn’t started it now I’d be intimidated by how many books there are and by how long they are as well.
        That’s all right. 🙂 ❤️

      2. Oh no, that’s unfortunate! 😦

Yeah there are what 5 or 6 and I think I heard some say there are 4 more still to be released? Yeah, no I think I’ll pass on them. I’m glad you did enjoy the books! 🙂

      3. Oh I didn’t think there were four still. Last I heard it was two, but considering it’s been nine years (maybe, I’m not 10% sure on the timeline) since his latest release in the series god knows how long it will be until we get the next book.

      4. I could be completely wrong… to be there are already a billion of these books out 😛
Oh dear it seems like this author is really trying to stretch it out!

      5. I have seen this! I saw it on Goodreads yesterday and I’m all indecisive if I want to read them since I’ve only read the first 4 books of the original series!

  2. Oooh House Martell! I have to say I remember very little of them too but it was nice reading about it to refresh my memory 🙂
This is such a great tag – I LOVE LOVE LOVE GOT but was super disappointed with the series finale so every little thing I can hold on to keep myself from drowning in my sorrows is much appreciated (I sound so dramatic and I’m sorry about that LOL)
I’ve given up on TOG I think, even though there are about four more books in the series I have to read… As for Gone Girl, I actually felt the exact opposite watching the movie (unfortunately did not get to read the book). I love twisted and despicable characters and she was bang on. Gillian Flynn wrote a spectacular story and a spectacular villain.
    Great answers, Meghan! 🙂

    1. Right?! I was like who? But I slightly remember them!
You’re not the only one who was super disappointed. I haven’t seen the final season, and I’m sorta afraid to start
I agree, I think Gillian Flynn wrote an excellent character because I hated her character to my core, and if that’s not great character development and dynamic, then I don’t know what is!
      Thanks Sophie! 😀

      1. I feel roughly the same way after reading the last HP book, particularly the epilogue… So to me, both don’t exist xD

Definitely, making you despise a character like that sure takes real skill! She’s amazing 🙂 I need to read her books soon hahaha (But maybe You first? Hmm)

      2. Oh haha!

Exactly! Definitely a real skill! 🙂 Oh, I haven’t read that, but I’ve seen the show. I hope you enjoy the book if you decide to read it! 😀

  3. You are so right about the «Gone Girl»!! Ahaha, I was stunned for good 5 minutes after finishing the book. All that went through my mind was: “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!” 😀

This was also my very first book review 🙂 Gillian Flynn created the most interesting villain ever!
