Pumpkin Spice Latte Book Tag

Hello friends! I hop everyone is doing well.Β Today I’m going to be doing the Pumpkin Spice Latte book tag, in which the lovely Sofi @A Book. A Thought tagged me in. Thank you so much, and if you’re not following Sofi, I totally recommend you do; she’s the sweetest! πŸ’ž

RULES:

  • Link back to theΒ original post
  • Thank the person who tagged you
  • Do the prompts below
  • Tag some friends
  • Most importantly – have fun!

πŸ‚| Pumpkin Spice Latte: A book you didn’t think you’d love |πŸ‚

The Chalk Man by: C.J. Tudor. I know I’ve talked a lot about this book in the last year, but that’s because I absolutely loved it! This book was recommended to me by my friend’s sister and at the time I honestly didn’t think anything of it, but once I read it, damn this was so good!

πŸ‚| Hot Apple Cider: A book that got you a bit hot under the collar |πŸ‚

I honestly don’t have an answer for this one because I don’t read steamy books.

πŸ‚| Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate: A book that felt like a warm hug |πŸ‚

Almost Adults by: Ali Pantony. This novel was so relatable that it felt like a nice warm hug to make me feel like I’m not alone.

πŸ‚| Maple Pecan Latte: A book you enjoyed that was hard to get into |πŸ‚

The Female of the Species by: Mindy McGinnis. This novel didn’t start off great, it was slow and I was confused as to what the point of the plot was… but damn! This novel packs a punch and was hard-hitting on rape culture.

πŸ‚| London Fog: A vanilla character |πŸ‚

I’m going to go with my trusted favourite boring character, Bella Swan from Twilight. She has no substance.

πŸ‚| Hot Buttered Rum: A book that was velvety smooth to read |πŸ‚

I’m not even 100% sure what that means. Fast-paced? Great prose?

I’m going to go with When the Moon Was Ours by: Anna-Marie McLemore. Even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of this book, when the prompt says ‘velvety smooth’ see purple prose and this novel was full of it; it was whimsy and lyrical.

πŸ‚| Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew: A character whose temperament is icy cold |πŸ‚

Russell’s wife, Vivian from Two by Two by: Nicholas Sparks. She was all around rude (although we never got to see her point of view) she came off as this standoffish person who only thought of herself and it made reading her really hard.

πŸ‚| Salted Caramel Mocha: A book that you’re salty about |πŸ‚

Pepper’s mother from Tweet Cute by: Emma Lord. She was so petty and I just couldn’t stand her character, at all. She ruined the book for me because the conflict she ensues is just dumb.

πŸ‚| Honey Bee Latte: A character who is sweet |πŸ‚

I’m going with Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd from News of the World by: Paulette Jiles. The bond he creates with a little girl is just so sweet and pure.

πŸ‚| Gingerbread Latte: A character you’d take home for christmas |πŸ‚

Catherine from Heartless by: Marissa Meyer. Not only is she sweet (to start) but she loves to bake… what better than bringing her home for Christmas so we can bake together! πŸ˜€
