Hi friends, happy Thursday! I hope the week has treated you all well as we wind down yet another week! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday! You all made my special day just a little more special π
Today I’m going to be doing the I Dare You tag. Thanks to The Orangutang Librarian for tagging me! π
What book has been on your shelf the longest?
Hmm, either my copy of A Series of Unfortunate Events or OH Hoop Crazy by Eric Walters… although I do still have all my children books in my parent’ basement… does that count?
What is your current read, your last read, and the book youβll read next?
As of writing this, which is 7 days before posting it I’m reading You Know Me Well by: Nina LaCour & David Levithan (I’m 20 pages in and it’s cute). My last read was Every Falling Star by: Sungju Lee (an eye opening read) and the next book (which I might be done by the time this goes live) either The Killer in Me by: Margot Harrison or How to Hang a Witch by: Adriana Mather, I haven’t decided.
What book did everyone like, but you hated?
Can I answer Twilight for this? I find so many people really liked this (despite how many people hated it) I honestly can’t see anything good about the last two books, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn; such a waste of space. No idea how I re-read those for theΒ third time this year!
What book do you keep telling yourself youβll read, but you probably wonβt?
Oooo I just had this conversation… with myself. I just saw the trailer for Let it Snow on Netflix, and every year I tell myself that I’m going to read it… well now that this movie is out I probably won’t be reading it all, and I’ll just watch the movie.
What book are you saving for retirement?
HA! Retirement, what a concept. I think the last time I did this tag I said something by Stephen King… and I think I’m going to leave it with that because at the rate I’m reading his work, I’ll be dead before I finish it all!
Last page: read it first, or wait βtil the end?
I always wait until the end, why would I read the last page first?
Acknowledgement: waste of paper and ink, or interesting aside?
It’s definitely not a waste of paper and ink… but I have to admit that I don’t read them. I think they could be interesting though!
Which book character would you switch places with?
All of them… just for a day. I’d like to be in different worlds just to see how it was. Like I’d totally jump into the Hunger Games…Β for one day… I’d love to travel to the different places in a Game of Thrones… or jump to New York pr LA and kick it like a Shadowhunter. The possibilities are endless.
Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life? (place, time, person?)
Each book I read has it’s little tie to my life. When I look back at my Goodreads read shelf I can see my year, where I was, what I was doing all through my books since I read everywhere. I find it rather fascinating!
Name a book that you acquired in an interesting way.
I don’t think I’ve really acquired a book in an interesting way. I buy them, people buy them for me, I’ve been given books. I’ve bought books while on vacation in other countries, which was a lot of fun. Is that interesting?
Have you ever given a book away for a special reason to a special person?
No. I can remember giving my friend The Fault in Our Stars, but that’s the only book I can remember giving someone. Otherwise I give money or a gift card so they can buy what they want. I know, so lazy!
Which book has been with you most places?
This answer hasn’t changed, The Picture of Dorian Gray has still been to the UK, the EU, The US, to a concert… still the most traveled book I own.
Any βrequired readingβ you hated in high school that wasnβt so bad two years later?
I’ve never gone back and re-read any of my required reading… although I am re-reading The Outsiders, but I never hated it. I hated Animal Farm, and I don’t think I’ll go back to read that, just no. No thanks.
Used or brand new?
Both, it really doesn’t matter to me. As long as I can read the words, we are good!
Have you ever read a Dan Brown book?
This question always makes me laugh because it’s so random… or well I think so. Anyways yes, I’ve read all his Robert Langdon books, The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, Inferno… I think their was a fourth one π
Have you ever seen a movie you liked more than the book?
I just had this conversation with Samantha, and we both agreed that the Notebook was such a better movie than the book. Anyone else?
And no, it’s not just because of Ryan Gosling π
Have you ever read a book thatβs made you hungry, cookbooks included?
Sometimes just the descriptions of food, I’m like hell yes, please. I love food descriptions!
Who is the person whose book advice youβll always take?
Again, going with my previous answer, my co-worker. We have similar tastes in books so I would listen to her if something is good or bad.
Is there a book out of your comfort zone (e.g., outside your usual reading genre) that you ended up loving?
I think I said this the last time, I don’t really have a comfort zone because I love a lot of different genres. I guess erotica would be out of my comfort zone, but there hasn’t been a book I love from there… so I guess the answer is no.

I agree that the notebook is a better film than book, the book felt so melodramatic…. I mean lol as if the film isn’t π but it just worked better as a film…yeah it’s probably cos of Ryan πππ thanks for the tag <3333

Wonderful tag as always, Meghan!
I completely agree with you for the places to visit; how amazing would it be if we could visit our favorite book places for a day and meet all of our favorite characters? Thank you soo much for the tag! β€οΈ

I haven’t read Twilight yet… I don’t think I ever will. The movies were alright when I was younger, but I don’t think I’ll like the books now.
Β«Let it SnowΒ» was such a cute story, I read it a couple years ago. But if you just watch a movie you won’t miss out on anything. π
Sometimes acknowledgments can be really funny, I often skip them as well but there were one or two that I really enjoyed reading. Should have written down what book it was from…
Totally agree with you about the GoodReads shelves throwback. I love seeing books I read in the previous years, because they remind me of what I went through during that time.

Whuuuut?! You HAVEN’T read Twilight?!? :O Girl, you SO don’t need to… just read my tweets, you’re good! π
I’ve only ever seen Twilight… and I think that was enough for me. I honestly don’t want to watch the rest!
That’s good to know because I might just do that… because obviously picking up the book has been too hard for me π
Oh no! Maybe the book will come back to you… was it a favourite author? I could see myself reading Stephen King’s acknowledgments, since I just love him π
YES! Exactly!!! I’m glad I’m not alone! π
