Emer’s Questions:

Do you prefer Bookstagram or Book Twitter? Share your social links.

Ooof, this a hard one right out of the gate! I love Bookstagram because I love looking at beautiful photos, but I feel I’m not the greatest at taking photos. Book Twitter on the other hand I find I’m good at because I can just talk books without the fancy photos… so Book Twitter.

Do you listen to music while reading? Or have you a favourite song that you associate with a particular book?

I don’t listen to music because that is distracting… but I’l listen to a podcast 🙄don’t ask how that works out. Lately I haven’t really wanted to listen to anything while reading, which is something completely new to me.
I also don’t have a song that I associate with any particular book… I sound lame. 😂

What would you like to be remembered for?

Wow man, I don’t know… being funny?

Who is your favourite musician/band/singer?

The Maine ❤️

This song is my anthem to 2020.

Who or what are you most grateful for in life?

This is a hella deep question! I’m just going to say that I’m grateful for the people who are in my life at current because they are some of the best people 💞

What is your favourite book to film adaptation?

Good question! I haven’t the slightest idea… after pondering this for a while (the whole weekend) I truly love the Harry Potter movies… but that is so clichéd that I’m not even counting that as an answer.

My true answer would be recently Love, Simon. I LOVED that movie! It was just as good as the book if you ask me… and you were asking 😜

What are your hopes for your blog in the next year?

Some of my hopes are to redesign the blog a little, and to gain some more friends! 🙂

You are going away on a relaxing holiday for a week. Where would you go and what five books would you bring with you to re-read?

My first thought when I read “relaxing holiday” would be a beach… I wouldn’t mind doing an all-inclusive again somewhere south because I got 3 books read and it was just so peaceful. But now that you’re asking me what 5 books I would re-read… man I have NO idea!

I do know I’d maybe re-read The Picture of Dorian Gray (maybe)! What I’ve always taken with me on vacation is a contemporary because they are always so light and fluffy and fun to read… so out of the 5 books I’d say at least 2 (maybe even 3) would be contemporary reads… do I have to list titles?

Ps. I Like You by: Kasie West
Emergency Contact by: Mary H.K. Choi
The Unexpected Everything by: Morgan Matson

Maybe I’ll even throw in some mystery/thrillers! I read The Chalk Man on vacation last year… SO good! (But you all already knew that)

It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

Has ever? Like my whole life? Even after reflecting on this question, I still don’t know what the nicest thing someone has done for me… people do nice things for me all the time… this girl at work who I barely know, I see her for less than 5 minutes every day when getting off the bus together and walking into the building; one day it was raining and she held her umbrella over my head for me… like she didn’t need to do that, but it was so nice of her!

So trying to name the nicest thing is so hard! Can we just go with this story because I really like it? 🙂

How many books have you read so far this year?

At this point, one, haha! But I was tagged in 2019, so I will say that in 2019 I was able to read 99 books!

Questions!

I’m going to use some of the same questions as the one’s Emer asked me because I liked them:

  1. How many books do you want to read this year?
  2. What’s one thing you are planning to leave behind in 2019?
  3. What’s something you’d like to do/or gain in 2020?
  4. It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
  5. What are your hopes for your blog in the next year?
  6. Who or what are you most grateful for in life?
  7. Who is your favourite musician/band/singer?
  8. What would you like to be remembered for?
  9. Do you prefer Bookstagram or Book Twitter? Share your social links.
  10. Random question: do you have a specific mug for specific beverages? Ex. a mug only for coffee, a mug only for tea, etc.? (I can’t be the only one!)

    1. I used to be sooo good at it… these days I don’t gravitate towards listening to a podcast and reading anymore, but I still do it on my commute every morning!
      Haha thanks! ☺️

  1. Thank you for the nomination, love! You’re the sweetest!

I tried Twitter … couldn’t get into it lol! I love Bookstagram ❤ I listen to either music (depends on the book) or I have Friends in the background but really low volume. I don't like reading in absolute silence … no idea why.

HP!!! I did enjoy the Love, Simon film … though I was mad that they didn't have the last couple of chapters in the film …

I can't wait to see your new blog title design!!! And you will totally make more friends … you're so friendly!

The Picture of Dorian Gray!!! I'm so happy that there's another person who loves this book as much as I do … THE LANGUAGE! PERFECTION!

That's so cute about the umbrella! I love when people do random acts of kindness like that. A lady did that for me back in the fall when I didn't have an umbrella and it was raining HARD while waiting for the bus. She was so sweet!

Man … I can't believe you read that many books! So jelly! If I hit 40 this year, i will be happy ha-ha!

    1. Aw your comment made my day! ❤️

I love twitter even if I don’t tweet a lot… I have a lot of fun reading people’s tweets! Bookstagram is fun too, even if I’m not good at it!

I feel you about that… I don’t like reading in total silence either, that’s why like putting a podcast on.

Aw, thanks. I have some ideas that I’m bouncing around with… I don’t think I’ll a complete design until feb/March… that’s my goal anyways.
Awww you are too sweet, I’m glad you think I’m friendly… some people don’t think so haha!

Right?!?!? I love Dorian Gray ❤️

That is so nice! I find little acts of kindness from strangers or people you don’t know closely are sometimes the best kinds of kindness!

Haha! I know you can do it! I believe in you!

  2. Meghan, honey! Thank you SO much for the nomination, it makes me happy! 🥰

I adored your answers … lately, I’ve been getting used to listening to music while I read, but that kind of relaxing and atmospheric music doesn’t have to have any words because I can’t read that way lol, but I’ve been enjoying it, I usually couldn’t hear anything while reading, I get distracted very easily 😅

I love HP movies too, I saw them before reading the books, I know it’s so crazy, right? and good luck with the redesign of your blog, I know it can be a lot of work and stress, but I’m sure it will be wonderful 😍

And I hope you’re having the most incredible month, you’re a fantastic person! ❤️❤️

    1. Aw you are so welcome, Sofii!

That sounds lovely, atmospheric music can be very soothing and relaxing!

Haha, I don’t think it’s crazy! I watched the first two Harry Potter movies before reading either of the books, you aren’t totally alone!
Thank you! I’m still in the ideas phase, hopefully I’ll be able to get pen to paper soon!

Aw, Sofii, you’ve made my day! ❤️ You are an amazing person too! 😀

  3. Thank you so much for thinking of me, you’re so sweet! ❤ ❤
I can't listen to anything while reading, it would be too distracting ahah, maybe music without any lyrics could work, but otherwise I just get way too focused on the music and lyrics or words to focus on my book ahah.
I LOVE the books you'd pick to re-read! I love Emergency Contact and The Unexpected Everything So much ❤

    1. Aw you are so totally welcome! 💞
I get that, I don’t usually listen to music either because then I want to sing along, haha… but podcasts seem to work and I’m not sure why!
Thank you! Those were both some of the most fun contemporaries! 😀

  4. Thank you so so much for the tag! I’ve never even seen this tag before :O

I can’t listen to music while reading. I’m okay with some background noise like someone watching TV or people talking in the other room, but anything else will distract me. Teach me the skill of listening to a podcast while reading! I’d listen to so many podcasts if I could! 😀

    1. You’re welcome! Me neither, I thought it’s pretty cool!

Haha! I don’t even know where I would begin by teaching these ways haha! This year, and the end of last year I’ve stopped listening to podcasts while reading, but total silence drives me crazy because then I’m thinking too hard about the silence! 😛

  5. Aww thank you SO MUCH Meghan for the tag!! ❤️
    I loved your answers!
I don’t know how you manage to listen to podcasts! You are a superwoman; I cannot stand any sound when I read, which is why I read at night.
I have never heard of The Maine but I loved the song you featured on your post; what a great discovery; thank you! 🥰
I also associate holidays with contemporaries.. And the Unexpected Everything is one of my favourites! Clark is such a babe!

Why, thank you! Haha, I don’t know how to describe how I do it, I just kinda do it 😛
Aww I’m so glad to hear that! The Maine are my absolute favourite! I’m glad to hear you’ll check them out! 😀
That’s a good association! Haha Clark is quite cute!
