WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Night Shift: I’m 41% of the way through; this week’s short story I found it hard to find the point of it, really. It was short and sweet and fast paced so I flew through it, but it wasn’t scary or anything.

The Two Towers: I’m 9% of the way through; I’m excited to read more about Frodo and his journey but I think that may be in the second half of the book – as for the first half, so far I’m intrigued.

Lastly, I’m reading We Are Still Tornadoes by: Michael Kun & Susan Mullen, and I’m enjoying this. This is told in the form of back and forth letters and it makes me want to start writing letters to a pen pal!

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

This week I finished The Amateurs by: Sara Shepard. I have to say this was a complete surprise for me. I honestly didn’t expect a lot from this book and as I was reading it I felt the teen drama aspect of it, but that ending took me by surprise and I ended up liking this a whole lot more. I’m worried the second book won’t live up to my now higher expectations, but we shall see.

I also finished my re-read of The Fellowship of the Ring by: J. R.R. Tolkien and I had fun with it. I read it at my own pace and just really enjoyed the adventure. I think I enjoyed reading it more this time around than the first time I read it 8 years ago.

Lastly, I finished Last Seen Leaving by: Caleb Roehrig and I really wanted to like this, really I did but I just couldn’t get past all the teen angst and the weird choices that didn’t make sense to me that the main character was making. I just spent a good 40 minutes trying (again – this has been a 2 day thing) to write my review 😅

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

Again, no additions to this week’s list. Depending on when my library books are ready I will be hitting the library come Friday or Monday. I have high hopes in myself to get to Each of Us a Desert by: Mark Oshiro after I finish my current read!
