Happy throwback Thursday! Today I’m going to be looking back at Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

I read Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland a few years ago, but it wasn’t until recently that I read Through the Looking Glass. Both stories really compliment one another, and should definitely be read.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by: Lewis Carroll: It’s the tale of a young girl named Alice, who falls into a world in which she describes it as Wonderland. Each chapter she is met with a new creature and a new adventure with them. The children’s book is filled with a lot of questions about life, and about who you are, but as well it is filled with lots of adventures to keep the reader reading. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense what is going on, but that’s the love and curiosity of Wonderland.

Through the Looking Glass by: Lewis Carroll: Alice has spent time in Wonderland, but now she finds herself in the world of the Looking Glass and things are just as quirky. Here she meets a new array of characters who, just like in Wonderland teach her new things and give her new understandings. In this novel we are filled with new characters that stretch beyond the imagination. The creativity and thought that went into Alice’s new world was thought provoking and fun to read. The plots didn’t need to make sense because they were so filled with a sense of wonder and magic, chapter after chapter, story after story. The characters were wacky, yet very enjoyable; they each definitely have their own personality and voice. This is definitely worth the read as it enters an alter reality that is engaging and delightful.
