Hi guys! Happy Thursday! This is my last ‘live’ post before I take off for my trip… tonight! Everything from this point until about June 24 is all scheduled posts from me. I hope to have some downtime to catch up on comments and posts in-between, but no promises! As for today, I’m going to be doing the Book Blogging Firsts Tag. I was tagged by Beth @Reading Every Night, and if you haven’t met Beth, or followed her, she is the sweetest, and who always leaves such thoughtful comments! Like Beth, I’ve been blogging with this blog for four years, so I’m excited to go explore my four years with you guys! I’m strictly only going to be talking about this blog as I had another one before this, but I feel like I’ve told that stpry one too many times now.
First blog name and design?
My first blog name was ‘Bony’s Blog’ I think my url is still ‘meghanmblogs’ because I’m that original. I didn’t think I was going to stick with WordPress that’s why I came up withΒ thatΒ in 2015. By the start of 2016 I started coming up with names, I even used a thesaurus to come up with terms since I didn’t want to be pigeonholed as just a book blog, and that’s when ‘Bony’s Whimsical Explorations & Reviews’ came to be.
As for design, well I haven’t really strayed too far. I tried to use the Way Back Machine but it can only pull a screenshot from Jan. 2016 and the theme was the same… which means I should probably do some updating!
First blog post?
It was titled “Hello World” because, again, I was so original! πI posted this Feb. 2, 2015… which I guess I should class as my blogiversary since WordPress never gives me that notification π. There you can read about my past blog, and all the hopes I had for this blog.
First book review?
The first one I posted on this blog, was Vampire Academy… this wasn’t my first book review ever… that I can’t remember, but the first on this blog… because I can look it up! Posted that Feb. 16, 2015.
First meme participated in?
This is a tie between Top Ten Tuesday and Music Monday. I started both of those last year in January… only TTT got to be too much so I’ve put it off for now. Music Monday on the other hand I love to participate every other Monday, offering up a little Canadian music! π¨π¦
First discussion post?
Yeah… I’ve been here four years and I have yet to still write one. I don’t know, it’s just not my thing. Maybe one day I will do it… when my blog turns 10 π
First book blog I followed?
Okay, this took some time to figure out because I knew there was a place to see who I followed… I just couldn’t remember where! But alas, so the first book blog I followed was someone named By Alice Grace, but apparently she doesn’t have that blog anymore. There are quite a few who I first followed who don’t blog anymore… Bookowly is the first I can find who still has a page.
First follower?
This was someone named Dr. K.L. Register. Well, all I can say is thanks for being my first follower! π
First book I read because of other bloggers?
Oh man, I have no idea! I’ve read Angie Thomas because the book world exploded about her book, The Hate You Give (and for all the right reasons) but i don’t think that was the first, but it’s one I can remember… or Caraval by Stephanie Garber, that was the first time I bought a book on a whim based on seeing it everywhere.

Coming up with blog name was PAINFUL. It took forever and I kept thinking that I needed to come up with something that I wouldn’t hate after a coupel of months.

I also LOVE your blog name! I think it’s so sweet and unique, so I’m happy that you landed on it with the help of a thesaurus.
I believe I also picked up The Hate U Give because all of its online buzz? It wasn’t necessarily that I found a book review that made me want to read it, but everyone and their mother was taking about it!

This is a great post Meghan, I mean you’ve been blogging in one form or another for ages right? I love how your blog name (or the web address name) for your blog has stayed the same, I mean if it works for you why change it right? Same with your design, although if you’re interested in doing a re-design I’d love to see what you come up with.
Top Ten Tuesday can be a lot, I mean it’s a great meme to get started with isn’t it? But each week the time it takes can get too much. I still take part because I love lists but if it isn’t working for you at least you have Music Monday’s instead!

I agree, it’s definitely a great meme to get yourself into the blogging world, I feel like I was part of something by doing the meme!
Yes, Music Monday is a lot easier to prepare for… it would be SO much easier if I just picked the songs I was into, but I’ve limited it to Canadian music, but I’m having so much fun with it!

That’s all right. π And I suppose if you’re happy with the way your blog looks there’s no rush to change it. I just get an urge to re-decorate everything every few years and apparently my blog is no exception. π
The main thing is that you enjoy it. When I no longer enjoy taking part in TTT I’ll probably stop taking part. For now though I still love it.

Oh I know what you mean! I’m always redecorating my room, but with my blog I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have no artistic ability and so redesigning it is a challenge for me.

Maybe you’re not feeling the urge to redecorate your blog because you’re happy with the way it looks now. You don’t need to redecorate if you don’t need to.
