Monthly Wrap-Ups

June 2019 Wrap-Up

Hi guys! I’m posting this a day late because I really wanted to post my Canadian Music Monday on Canada Day! 🇨🇦 I can’t believe that June is over! We are literally done half of the year! Where is this year going?! Now that I got that out of the way 😅 it’s that time of the month to recap what went down, let’s get into it!

If you missed May’s wrap up, catch it here!

Currently Reading:
The Shining
Twilight
The Hike

I have started my re-reading of The Shining for my Stephen King project; so far I’m liking it just as much as I did the first time. I just finished part one and it’s been chilling since the start.

Yes, you see that right, I’m re-reading Twilight. I’ve been thinking about it for it a long time, and now that I’m back from my trip I figured now is the time. I first read it when I was 14, then again when I was 18 but now I want to read it to see what my adult thoughts would be. I’m going through it a chapter a day and commenting on Twitter, follow me for all my thoughts!

Technically I started reading The Hike by: Drew Magary yesterday (July 1), but I finished my last current read of June 40 minutes shy of July 1 so I’m just going to put what I actually am currently reading. So far, this is a strange read that I’m slightly intrigued by.

What I read this month:

I was able to read 9 books this month! For someone who was on vacation for two weeks, I did pretty good. I read the same amount last month, damn. Not much going on with my bookstagram, but hey I was away!

I’m still watching The Office and continuing to fall in love; I’m sad that I only have 3 seasons left though! I was going to put a call out for a new sitcom to watch but Netflix just tweeted that they’re putting Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back on, and I think I found my next watch since I’ve never seen the last season.

Jeopardy is still going strong. James Holzhauer lost I believe the first week of June… you could tell he’d kinda given up and let the other contestant win, but it was fun to watch him win over 2 million. The teen tournament just wrapped up, but I only got to see the end of it… I’ve missed so much Jeopardy this month!

Elementary is still going strong… I spent the last week of June watching all the epiosdes I’d missed while away to be caught up, and I actually am!

I almost forgot that me and my brother started season 3 of Nailed It! but we haven’t continued… it’s only 6 episodes but we’ve had so much going on that we haven’t finished it yet… since last month we’ve watched 4 epiosdes, only 2 more to go!

I started watching Black Mirror season 5, it’s only 3 episodes and my goal was to have it done by July… well that didn’t happen, I have one episode left and I am loving this season. The stories are so detailed, it’s amazing and thought provoking.

What I Watched this month:
Seasons 6
‘Salem’s Lot (2004)
A Return to ‘Salem’s Lot

Season 6
A Star is Born (2018)

I’m continuing my journey with The Office. Although I didn’t get to watch a lot of it this month due to traveling and the UK Netflix doesn’t have the American version.

I continued watching all versions of ‘Salem’s Lot and this 2004 version was complete garbage, I hated every minute of it and I think I packed for my trip more than I watched this.

A Return to ‘Salem’s Lot was interesting, and if I’m being quite frank, I don’t remember much of it now, as I’m writing this after my trip, but I guess it was some attempt, not my favourite.

I finished season 6 of ER before I left for vacation. I love that show, but I’m a tad sad about how that season ended… I’m not sure how I feel about starting season 7.

I watched A Star is Born on the plane ride to Glasgow, and I was so excited to watch it, but I don’t know I didn’t feel anything special about it… I kinda fell asleep watching it… oops.

Since I was on the UK Netflix for two weeks I took the time to watch all three seasons of Rick and Morty. I’ve become rather fond of the show, I don’t know, its humour isn’t for everyone, but it’s still funny and enjoyable.

I finally watched The Little Prince after having it on my list for forever. I downloaded it to watch while away and I actually did it, yay!

I watched Always be My Maybe on the plane home, and omg it was so cute and sweet and I loved it. Great movie, definitely recommend!

When I got home I watched Space Jam as a comfort. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before, but in all honesty I don’t remember so it was good to just sit and watch.

So, Dead to Me came out in May and I’ve already binge-watched it. It normally takes me months to watch anything new (my list is so long 🙁 ) but somehow I managed to watch this in a week, it was so freakin’ good! I can’t wait to talk about it!

The Stephen King Project: ‘Salem’s Lot

I’m going to keep this part short as I did a hellva lot this month and I plan to create separate posts for everything I did, saw and of course ate 😉

But for a quick run down, I went over to the UK for two weeks to visit one of my best friend’s who is studying over there and together we traveled through Scotland to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Then we traveled to Cardiff, Wales. From there we went to England where we spent day trips to Oxford, Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester. We also went to London for a day to see the Spice Girls at Wembley Stadium. So. Much. Fun.

Since I was away for Father’s Day, I had to wait until I got back to give my dad his gift… which is tickets to see Pink in August!! I’m so excited, and so is he. We’re both huge fans so this is going to be fun. Speaking of concerts, before I left I bought tickets to go see City and Colour in November with my brother, I’m very excited about that too! It gives me something to be excited for the second half of the year!

I’m just trying to get back into the swing of things, some major changes are happening at work so I gotta prepare myself for that.

Lastly, to round the month out we went to see the Blue Jays play on the 30th. Sadly, they lost (the only game out of the series with Kanas too) but it was still fun, hot, but fun. I’m currently nursing some major burns on my arms 🙁. But, we sat right by third base, this was the first time sitting in the 100s section, so it was definitely an experience.

Anyways, that has been my June in a very small nutshell. Expect blog posts on my trip starting next week, a week from today actually. Now, I haven’t even begun to write them up yet, but my goal is this:

For the next two months, July and August TV Tuesdays will be taking a short hiatus and in it’s replace I’ll be posting write up posts on my vacation + the Spice Girls every Tuesday. On Fridays will be photo blogs.
