Weekly Wrap Ups

Weekly Update #50πŸ•―

Hello friends, happy Friday and welcome to my Weekly Update!

Currently Reading:

On page 778
On page 180

The Bachman Books; 84% of the way; I’m continuing to read The Running Man this week and I’m just confused. I’m hoping that things become more clear because I have no idea what is going on.

Lastly, I’m reading Jonny Appleseed by: Joshua Whitehead. This is the last Canada Reads book (and the winner) on my list and I like it, but it’s not my cup of tea. I really wished I liked this more, but I can see why it won.

What I’ve Read:

Last week I read Hench by: Natalia Zina Walschots. This was such a fascinating novel and I loved the premise so much! I’m still processing all my thoughts.

I also finished Firekeeper’s Daughter by: Angeline Boulley. Wow, this novel was packed full of so much stuff. I enjoyed this immensely. The mystery was so good and the love and grief that all the characters go through, wow hard hitting but so good!

Let’s Talk About… Dear White People Season Four

Links to posts I enjoyed around the blogosphere:

Sofi @A Book. A Thought talked about her favourite covers of the year – nothing like looking at pretty covers

CW @The Quiet Pond announced Pondathon II a year long readathon – this sounds AMAZING! I am on the fence about joining in, but it sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Karla @Another Bookworm posted about books you can read in one sitting – great for trying to finish up your reading goals!

Marie @Drizzle & Hurricane Books posted on reasons to start a blog – I love everything this girl writes, it’s so from the heart and heartfelt!

This week started with me going out to start my Christmas shopping (woo!) and then the very next day I started wrapping the gifts that I got – talk about productive, I’m really proud of myself!

This week was also library week so I got some new library books, yay! I had a bad experience with Starbucks where I got stuck in the drive thru for 20 minutes… only to be given the wrong order. πŸ™„

What I’m watching:

Star Trek: Enterprise; season 3. They changed the theme song! I was prepared for the theme song to go away… instead they added this guitar/band under the original theme and I hate it! That aside, I’m liking this season. You can totally tell they’re putting T’Pol and Tripp together. We felt it in season one but then that plot dropped off in season two and now we’re back in full force… I mean, I’m not hating it.

The Movies That Made Us; season 3. I’m only a one episode in on this, but I’m enjoying it like I did the past two seasons.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine; season 7. I’ve watched a few more episodes… I forgot how funny Jason Mantzoukas is… I love his cameo appearances on this show every season. I wish we got him for more than the one maybe two we see him in.

Station 19; season 5. The fall finale this week and it was a lot of picking up the pieces of what happened in last week’s episode, since some things went down. I like that it was also a holiday episode.

Grey’s Anatomy; season 18. Also the fall finale, where this had to end very dramatically. We’re left in limbo about who’s going to live, who’s going to die and is this experiment Meredith is working on will find it’s legs and be worth something. Lots to explore when we return.

What I’ve watched:

Star Trek: Enterprise; season 2. I feel like season 1 ended in somewhat of the same fashion – the talk of time travel and that their mission could be at jeopardy. I think the fact that they were heading into unknown territory is what made it interesting and worth investing to see where this will go.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas; re-watch. I re-watched this while doing my Christmas wrapping; what surprised me was how much of the words I knew, I can pretty much quote the whole movie! πŸ˜‚

Sex Education; season 3. This didn’t end the way I thought it would and I’m happy about that – I couldn’t deal with the sadness of what I thought was going to go down. I’m so happy to see how far Amy has come, and how she’s giving advise to Maeve. Maeve and Otis!! Loved that. Oh and speaking of seeing how far people have come, Adam’s father, Michael, wow has he made a whole 180 – I’m excited to see where they take his character. Now I’m sad I gotta wait for season 4!

Let It Snow; re-watch. I watched this movie a few years ago when it was first released… but I accidentally fell asleep watching it. It’s only taken me this long to go back and watch it… but it was an alright movie. It didn’t wow me, it was an entertaining hour and a half; nothing unexpected happens, it’s all pretty basic, kinda cute. I haven’t read the book.

    1. I feel that; being a fast reader I can usually fit both in. Some days I don’t and I’m okay with that, as long as you’re doing what you want to do – no pressure!
