Review: The Hobbit

Hi guys, and welcome to Throwback Thursday! Today I’m going back to look at J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

Read: November 2012
Rating: 3 Stars

The Hobbit

The Hobbit by: J.R.R. Tolkien: This is the story of a young Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins who goes on this long adventure, it’s actually only a year, where he meets elves, hairy spiders, and dragons. It as an interesting story for children, though it could have gone into more detail about the battle instead of saying very vague things about it. The novel would have been better if it went into more detail about what happened during the battle. Though this is a children’s story it works perfectly to catch their attention and hold it for a good 300 pages. It’s all fantasy, which is cool; there are cool special things Bilbo can do so it’s fun to read.

    1. Thank you! & I didn’t read it as a child either (my brother did) I was gosh almost 20 haha, but I could see why children would love it! I’m currently reading a lot of children fiction and I feel like I love it more than when I was a child ha! I do hope you love The Hobbit too when you read it! 🙂

      1. There are books out there that are timeless, kind of like Harry Potter but I can see for a lot of people why The Hobbit would be one as well!
There are plenty of books I read as a child that I love more as an adult too! 😀
Thanks Meghan, I hope so as well.
