Review: Cemetery Boys

Hi friends, happy Monday! I hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m going to be posting my review of Aiden Thomas’ novel Cemetery Boys.

Cemetery Boys

Cemetery Boys by: Aiden Thomas: All Yadriel wants to do is prove to himself and to his family that he is a real brujo. When his cousin Miguel dies he’s determined to find his ghost to set free, only the ghost he summons isn’t Miguel, it’s a boy named Julian. Julian is intent on finding out how he died so Yadriel agrees to help him so they both get what they want; the only thing is, the more time Yadriel spends with Julian, less he wants him to leave. This novel was really wholesome; from the plot to the characters and everything in between, this novel was an overall joy to read. This started off a little on the slower side and the reader was worried it wouldn’t pick up, but come to about fifty pages in and the plot started to really pick up and it kept going from there. The story was good and truly captivating, the slight romantic arc that was building in the background was so cute and so well paced. It was a slow build up that let the reader really meet both of the characters and watch them grow together. This story would be nothing if not for the characters, they were so real and honest. The main characters were two complete opposites that completely complimented each other. The secondary characters were also really well thought out and really brought everything together. The way this novel ended really shocked the reader; they were not expecting what happened, to happen. Thomas cleverly weaved all the plots together to create such a satisfying and happy ending. All in all, there was so much to love in this novel that it made it hard to put down, the reader didn’t want it to end.
