Hello friends! Happy Thursday, I hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m going to be posting my review of the final novel in the Uglies series, Extras by: Scott Westerfeld.

Extras by: Scott Westerfeld: Taking place a few years after Tally Youngblood took down the uglies, pretties and specials, is a new world; a world where people are obsessed with fame. Aya Fuse, a fifteen-year-old girl, is an extra among them all. Wanting to break out and gain popularity, she finds a group of girls who could make her famous but what she doesn’t know is that they are hiding a secret bigger than anyone knows. This was the final novel in the Uglies series and for the most part it was an engaging novel. The plot had moments were it was exhilarating and exciting, but then there would be moments were it was completely dull. This made it hard for the reader to stay connected and stay focused on the story. The whole concept of being extra was interesting; it wasn’t completely explained and it was only through the actions of the characters that the reader understood what it meant. The new characters that this story introduced and focused on were interesting enough to keep the reader invested in them. Seeing old characters come back was also intriguing and it was nice to see them get an actual send off. Overall, this was a good ending to a series that started off so strong, but seemed to weaver as it came to a close; it was good to see the series come full circle in the end and to see the plots and characters end well.
