Hi guys! Happy Thursday and happy first day of August! How are we into the dog days of summer, I can’t believe it! Today I’m going to be doing the Sunshine Blogger Award for the eighth time! Thank you so much Sailor @A Wicked Reader for tagging me! 😀
Rules:
- Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.
- What’s a book you’re embarrassed to admit that you’ve never read?
Embarrassed about a book I’ve never read, now that’s a new one. Usually it’s the other way around. I don’t know. I’ve never read The Throne of Glass series that I know so many people love, but I’m not embarrassed by it. I don’t think I’m really embarrassed about anything I haven’t read. My co-worker and I were talking about Miriam Toews and I felt bad that I’ve only read one of her books, I really need to get to reading more from her. My co-worker makes me want to read more Canadian content, she’s so good about it. I just feel bad I haven’t read a lot of it. 2020 challenge perhaps?
2. If you could punch any character in the face, who would it be and why?
This question made me laugh and automatically made me think of this:
Recently there was a character in a book I was reading, oh yes, Reshma Kapoor from Enter Title Here. I just wanted to shake some sense into her. She was so in over her head about being perfect it drove me insane. Great book though!
3. What’s a book or series that you think everyone should read?
I’m always telling people to read the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I love that book, I love the theme, the story arc, the characters. Great book. Read it.
4. Which book is the first that you fell in love with?
I really gotta open the memory bank on this one. I don’t have an exact answer for this so I”m going to put my Arthur and Franklin books, maybe even my Berenstain bears books.
5. What is your all-time favourite book cover?
I’ve never thought of that. I really like the Caraval covers. So pretty!
6. Is there an author that you absolutely refuse to read anything that’s written by them?
Not that I can think of.
7. Who is your favourite book villain?
Cliché answer, but Lord Voldemort.
8. If you could only read one book repeatedly for the rest of your life, what would it be?
See question 3. Dorian Gray, my main man.
9. Are characters or plot more important to you in a story?
Hmmm, good question. If characters are boring then it really drags the plot so I’m going to say characters are more important. If they’re really good characters then they don’t always have to have an epic plot to be great.
10. What book or series do you wish would be adapted into a movie or TV show?
I feel like I’ve answered this question multiple times, but I’m going to stick with my answer of Caraval.
11. What’s a series that always makes you feel happy and nostalgic to think about?
Ugh, I don’t want to say Harry Potter, but… Harry Potter. Maybe the Hunger Games too.

Those are gorgeous covers! I almost bought Bear and the Nightingale, but I couldn’t find it at the bookstore when they said they had it so I bought another book instead…. that I haven’t read 😁

AWE! YES! So cute. My favourite is probably “Love You Always”, though it makes me cry a lot ha-ha!
Unfortunately I haven’t yet. But I do plan to read them. I honestly have SO many bloody books I want to read yet NO time to read them all … I swear, this is every book lovers curse.
And of course! ❤

You know, I’ve never read that one. My mum owns it and keeps it in her side drawer that we’re not to go in so growing up I’ve always thought that book was not meant for kids 😅😂
Haha, oh I know how you feel! That’s like every book I know I have to read, plus the ones screaming on my shelf to read them! 😂

Lol! It is and isn’t? It’s one of those books that has different messages for different ages. But I DO think parents get a little extra something from that book.

Maybe one day I’ll read it, since I know we do own it!
