The Sunshine Blogger Award VI

Hello lovely people! Today I’m going to be doing the Sunshine Blogger Award for the sixth time! Thank you Jenna @Bookmark Your Thoughts for tagging me! It has been such a treat to get to know you, even though sometimes I’m like, are we the same person! πŸ˜πŸ˜„ Jenna is a fun and bubbly person that you all should definitely follow for all her fun posts! 😊

The Rules

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post/or on your blog.

  1. Have you ever read a book in another language? If yes, which one?

Yes! In French. Le Petit Prince, or the Little Prince in English. I’ve never actually read it in English… one day I will.Β
  2. What is your best solution for a reading slump?

Watching a lot of TV. I enjoy just relaxing and mindlessly watching TV when I don’t have the capacity to read.

  3. If you could only read one author forever, who would it be and why?

I really don’t know. I like that Jenna picked Kelley Armstrong for mystery and suspense because Armstrong is so good at creating a story, so I may just go with that. I’d say Stephen King, but I already know what kind of burn-out that leads to.
  4. Which book do you think would make the best video game?

Okay, so I don’t do video games, like at all. So this is a very hard question. Can I say the Wayward Children series, can you imagine going through all those worlds, my goodness. This may be a lame answer, again, me and video games don’t really mix.
  5. If the place you lived in could only experience ONE season forever, what season would you choose?

Oh man, this is so hard! I love all the seasons for different reasons… maybe I’ll go with fall because it’s beautiful, it’s not too warm or too cool, sweaters! and I don’t have fall allergies! … oh and my birthday falls in fall πŸ˜› πŸ˜†

  6. If you could live in any sitcom, which would it be?

GAH! Why must you make these questions so hard! I’ve changed my answer three times, I was going to go with The Good Place, but then I was like nahh Brooklyn Nine Nine, and I had all the gifs and everything in place, and minutes before posting this I changed my mind yet again, and I’m going with Kim’s Convenience. I love this show,

    I love this family dynamic,

and well hello, how can you say no to this face?
Yes, this show deserved 3 gifs!

  7. If you could INSTANTLY become an expert in something, what would it be?

I’m going to say languages. I would love to be an expert in all the languages, know how to speak them, and their grammar; that would be so helpful!

  8. If you were a member of a circus, what type of performer would you be?

Oh boy, maybe a trapeze artist. That would be a lot of fun!

  9. What’s your FAVOURITE book to movie adaptation?

I love the Harry Potter movies, for what they did, they did an amazing job. But to not be super cliched, I’m going to say that my recent favourite is Love, Simon. That was such a beautiful adaptation, I like what they did, and I felt all the feels.

  10. What type of literature do you prefer the most? Why (i.e. poetry, fiction standalone, fiction series, nonfiction standalone, nonfiction series, plays/dramas, short stories, etc.)?

Woah, so many options. My goodness! I love standalones because they are usually short and sweet, which I don’t mind, but I also love series because you can do much with the world and the characters, but sometimes authors drag it because they know they can. So hard! Okay, I’m going standalone because even though you don’t spend what feels like years in a series, you get a snap shot of a world and characters and sometimes if they’re really good they are easy to reread and jump back into.

  11. You are the main character in a novel β€” who’s your sidekick/partner in crime and why?

Perry the platypus! I have his picture on my cupboard at work… which usually sparks people into a conversation. I’m always on the hunt, investigating the answers to questions, both at work and in my personal life. He’d make a great sidekick because we’d solve crimes together!

Okay, I’m going to be lame (I’ve also been super busy) so I’m not going to tag anyone this time around.

  1. Awee!! You’re so freakin’ adorable! And it’s so true … sometimes we are scary a like ha-ha! I love The Little Prince. I’ve only read it in English but I want to try reading it in French — I really want to learn basic French now that I live in Ottawa ha-ha.

YEAY for KELLEY ARMSTRONG! Such a great author ❀

Languages would be one of my top picks to … I hate knowing that I am restricted in meeting new people because of language barriers 😦 I would also pick trapeze artist … so much fun!

They actually did do a great job with Love, Simon … I do wish that they added the last few chapters though because I wanted more Simon and "Blue" time on screen πŸ˜€

Standalone = perfect books! I do love a series once in a while, but I like just sometimes not having to read MULTIPLE books πŸ™‚ Great post and answers, darlin'!

    1. Haha, aw thanks 😊
Right! 😝 You should definitely read it, or try to read it, in French. It can be really complicated because of the nature of the book deals with all these bigger themes, but I still very much enjoyed it! I feel you, I’m trying to learn French, but man I feel like I’m always like one step forward, one step back πŸ™„ One day!

Not just meeting new people, but going places or doing things because it’s in a language I don’t understand. If I knew them all it would never be a problem!

Right?! I really enjoyed it, and I want to watch it again sometime soon! I agree, I would have loved to see more Simon and Blue… but did you hear that there’s going to be a spin off type tv series based on the book on Disney+ ? I’m curious about that.

Me too! Series can get so tiresome making sure you’ve read all the books, and in the correct order πŸ˜›
Thanks so much for tagging me again! πŸ˜„β€οΈ

      1. I know right, meh!

I have no idea, I just saw it on Twitter in passing that Becky Albertalli tweeted it. I don’t know much more than that.

  2. I do the same when I’m in a reading slump, just watch tons of Netflix lol. I would also pick Fall as my season as well. My birthday also falls around that time too lol. I have yet to watch Love, Simon and need to do so ASAP. AND STANDALONES!!!! YES!! I guess because my reading preferences have changed, therefore I don’t have the mental capacity to wait for another book in a series. Maybe if it’s a companion novel but standalones have definitely been my thing.

    1. I just find it so mindless that I can’t help but fall into the Netflix trap.
Haha, great minds think alike! 😊
Oh, yes you most definitely need to watch it soon! I loved it so much!
I feel this! Like just knowing there is going to be more than 2 or 3 books in a series I’m like do I have the time or the will to want to wait… half the time I forget, oops πŸ˜†

      1. And of course the suggestions never stop so you go through so much! πŸ˜› It’s a never ending cycle!

Or I forget what happened in the past novels and I’m too lazy to go back and re-read those, because who’s got time for that? 😝

  3. I love your answers for this tag Meghan. πŸ™‚ I feel like the Wayward Children series would make a great video game, I wouldn’t have thought of that one but I would love to be able to explore all those worlds, to be able to pick a door and see what’s on the other side.
Being about to be an expert in languages would be so helpful, and Love Simon is my favourite recent adaptation. I want to try and re-watch it soon actually.
Great post, and great answers for this tag as well. πŸ™‚ ❀

    1. Thank you Beth! πŸ˜€
There are probably thousands of other books that would have fit better for that question, I clearly just had that series on the brain πŸ˜›
Wouldn’t it? I would love to re-watch Love, Simon again too now that I’m thinking about it.
      Thanks again! ❀️

  4. Wonderful answers for this and congratulations on the award! The Good Place is such a great show, I love it so much but I don’t know if I’d actually want to live in it ahha πŸ™‚ and I loved Love, Simon so much, such a great adaptation! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! 😊
Haha, I feel the same way, as much as I love the Good Place, everything Eleanore goes through… especially the last season, I don’t think I’d ever want to go through that.
