Hi guys! Happy Thursday! Today I’m going to be doing the I Dare You book tag. I was tagged by Heather @The Sassy Book Geek; thank you so much for tagging me! Heather is awesome and you all should totally follow her if you don’t already!

Alright! Let’s get into this!

1.) What book has been on your shelf the longest?

That’s a very good question… let me look around the room a moment… probably my signed copy of Hoop Crazy by Eric Walters. I got it signed in the sixth grade when he came to our school.

2.) What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?

My current read is: Purple Hearts by: Michael Grant
My last read was: Symptoms of Being Human by: Jeff Garvin
My next read: probably Try Not to Breathe by: Holly Seddon as I picked that up from the library last week.

3.) What book did everyone like, but you hated?

Hmm. I know a lot of people really liked the Red Queen series, but it wasn’t my favourite… that’s all I can come up with right now.

4.) What book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?

I have quite a few I feel. I’m going to steal Heather’s answer because I keep saying I’m going to read the Sookie Stackhouse books, but am I really going to read them? I l-o-v-e-d True Blood so much, hello Eric Northman anybody? 😍 but I think I’ll stick with the show.

I also keep saying I’ll read The Bone Season by: Samantha Shannon, but that’s still on my shelf unread.

5.) What book are you saving for retirement?

I laughed and shook my head when I first read this on Heather’s blog because who saves a book for retirement? For me, that’s years away. I’m going to say some Stephen King book because at the rate I’m reading them I’m still going to be reading them once I get there, plus he’s still alive and writing. So yep a Stephen King book!

6.) Last page: read it first, or wait until the end?

I wait until the end because I can’t be bothered to be spoiled.

7.) Acknowledgement: waste of paper and ink, or interesting aside?

It’s definitely not a waste of paper and ink at all! I think it’s important for authors to add them; I think they’re interesting. I may not read every single one, but books that are non-fiction or fiction based on truth I find that stuff so interesting.

8.) Which book character would you switch places with?

Can I say none of them? No. Okay. Maybe Inej from Six of Crows. God knows I’m not as skilled as she is but I’d love to go on the heist and be apart of it all!

9.) Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life? (Place, time, person?)

A lot of books remind me of specific things. I can just go through my Goodreads read bookshelf and I can remember time of year it was. Anyways one book in particular is (of course) Dorian Gray; that book has traveled a lot. I have memories reading it in a hotel room in London, standing in line waiting to get in to see Gerard Way, on a plane on my way to New York.

10.) Name a book that you acquired in an interesting way.

I don’t really know what that means 🤔. I recently acquired a new copy of Dorian Gray; I returned to work from a weekend away and a co-worker showed up at my desk with it, knowing how much I love the book she said I could have her copy. I’m happy that I have a new copy, but sad that she doesn’t want hers, but it’s got a happy home now.

11.) Have you ever given a book away for a special reason to a special person?

Not really. I borrow books with people, but nothing special.

12.) Which book has been with you the most places?

Again Dorian Gray… see comment above.
Although Gray has also been to Berlin, Nashville and Atlanta!

13.) Any “required reading” you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad two years later?

First off, two years later is very specific. Why two? I’ve never gone back to read a required reading book. I enjoyed Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Othello by Shakespeare, and A Complicated Kindness by: Miriam Towes when I read them all in school.

14.) Used or brand new?

Either or, doesn’t matter to me.

15.) Have you ever read a Dan Brown book?

Yes. Why does this question sound like an attack on Dan Brown? The Da Vinci Code wasn’t a bad book.

16.) Have you ever seen a movie you liked more than the book?

Yes. The Notebook. The movie was waaaaaay better than the book. 

17.) Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, cookbooks included?

No books in particular, but every time I read a scene where characters are eating…  I want to eat… I think I may have a problem.

18.) Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take?

The same co-worker I mentioned above. We have a lot of similar tastes. She actually just got me onto the new tv show Castle Rock where the characters are all based on Stephen King characters (I know not book related, but kind of since it deals with Stephen King).

19.) Is there a book out of your comfort zone that you ended up loving?

I don’t really have a comfort zone; I read pretty much everything. I’m not a fan of romance/erotica, and there haven’t been any of those books that I’ve loved.
