Weekly Update #46 πŸŽŸ

Hello friends, happy Friday and welcome to my Weekly Update!

Currently Reading:

On page 685

The Bachman Books; 74% of the way; I’m continuing with Roadwork, I’m getting closer to finish this and I can feel that it’s concluding soon; I’m hoping to be surprised by the ending because at this point I can figure out how it’s going to end.

Lastly, I’m not reading anything else – I’m in between books!

What I’ve Read:

Last week I read The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by: Benjamin Alire SΓ‘enz. I really enjoyed this; from the writing to the characters I just loved every moment I got to spend in this world.

I also managed to finish Any Way the Wind Blows by: Rainbow Rowell today. This is the last book in the Simon Snow trilogy and there just feels like so much is happening – I’m at the point where I read it to finish the trilogy… and I can’t stand the title. I can see why people loved this, but I just couldn’t get into it.

Do you like my Christmas headers? Now that my birthday has come and gone, I’m ready to start celebrating Christmas!

Speaking of my birthday, I celebrated this past week (and will be continuing to do so this weekend coming up). Last Friday I went out to dinner with my friends and it was good to see everyone. We ended up at our table for 4 hours 😱 I mean, we didn’t expect to, we ended having to wait at least half an hour for our bill. Because of this delay we were late heading out to go roller skating. The line was so long and it was already 10:30 pm, so instead we decided to go to Dave and Buster’s since I’ve never been. It was a lot of fun, they have a lot of games – I’m a fan of the racing games. πŸ˜„

Then on my actual birthday, the Saturday, I went to brunch with a friend – omg so yummy! I then had to take a nap before going out to dinner with my family. It was a jam-packed day, but I enjoyed it.

Aside from that, my week has been pretty quiet.

What I’m watching:

The Good Doctor; season 5. This came back this week and for the most part I enjoyed the episode. What I find is, these episodes can be so unmemorable. Glassman keeps coming and going and I’m kinda tired of the whole “Shaun doesn’t need me” plot. He is Shaun’s father figure, why would he not need you anymore, ugh! The CEO is getting very close to one of the chief doctors and I’m curious to see what that could lead to – in terms of the hospital.

Station 19; season 5. I’m glad they skipped the funeral, I don’t think I would have been okay with it. The Thanksgiving plot (it honestly still feels too early for American Thanksgiving, but it is next week) was nice, even though there was a lot of drama – I don’t know how I feel about the Travis plotline – that’s a really tough spot to be in. Seeing Warren and Miranda losing little Pru was so sad, plus the girl who plays Pru… how does she act so sad so well?!

Grey’s Anatomy; season 18. Again, continuing with the Thanksgiving plot, this episode didn’t really feel like anything special. We get some Nico and Schmitt action (Nico meets his mom, ha!), we get some Amelia and Link action (I’m curious to see what will transpire here) and of course we get some steamy Meredith and Nick (I totally had to Google his character name because I couldn’t just call him Scott; although I really wanted to call him Ben (hello Felicity)) action, they are cute though.

The Queen’s Gambit; limited series. I was looking for something short to watch on Netflix and I’ve always wanted to watch this. I’ve heard people say this makes chess interesting and I 100% agree; I’m so into this and Beth as a character I love, she’s just so focused on chess and it’s fun to see her love for the game.

Star Trek: Enterprise; season 2. I have to say, I’m only a few epiosdes into this season and I’m not really feeling it as much as the first one. The plots aren’t as exciting – we’re getting a lot of backstory and side stories that I’m finding I’m not really caring about. There is also a plot where their mission is threatened to be canceled and that whole episode was just weird. I’m still curious to continue because I can’t wait to watch some of the other Star Trek series.

What I’ve watched:

Sex Education; season 1. I finished this last Sunday and OMG this show has my heart! I’m trying to take my time watching it because I don’t want it to end. But UGH Otis and Ola – I love it, and them Maize shows up UH OH! Then Otis’ mom and Ola’s dad, ooo la la – I really like them together too, which kinda sucks. Then Eric and ADAM! I mean, I knew that was coming but w-o-w! I can’t wait to watch season 2.

Star Trek: Enterprise; season 1. I finished the first season and of course it ended on a cliff hanger where Archer is stuck in the future. I really loved this season, it was the perfect introduction to the Star Trek world for me.

Twelve Forever; season 1. I did it! I finally finished this! It ended differently than I thought it would. I figured this would end once Reggie turned 13… not Todd, but it was a nice ending. It ended on entering the teen years and how things might change (as Todd has a girlfriend now) but their friendship should grow with the changes and not stay the same, which was a great lesson to learn.

The Ghost of Girlfriends Past. I surprisingly, actually liked this movie. I mean, the plot was pretty basic and there were very weird moments, but there were also redeeming moments in this too and I ended up thoroughly enjoying and laughing at this movie.

  1. The Inexplicable Logic of My Life is a gem, not many people talk about that book but I loved it when I read it, especially the focus on family and the diversity it represents! 😍 & Thank you so much, of course, for mentioning my post, I’m so glad you liked it! πŸ₯Ίβœ¨β€οΈ
