Weekly Update #45 πŸ’Ž

Hello friends, happy Friday and welcome to my Weekly Update!

Currently Reading:

On page 669
On page 226

The Bachman Books; 72% of the way; I’m continuing with Roadwork, I just started part 3 and it’s been a slow start towards the end. No idea what’s in store for me as this comes to a close.

Lastly, I’m reading The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by: Benjamin Alire SΓ‘enz. This is a fast-paced read and I’m flying through it; I love the relationships between Sal and his father and Sal and his best friend Sam. It’s gotten so heavy, but I’m loving it to pieces!

What I’ve Read:

Last week I read The Heart Forger by: Rin Chupeco. Okay, I need the next book now because I love this story. So much happens in this book and I just love the characters. The whole back and forth from past to present had me tripped up a few times.

I also finished Tilly and the Crazy Eights by: Monique Gray Smith. This story was short, but it was so impactful. I loved the road trip and the adventures all the characters went on. It was such a heartwarming story with so much growth; it also had harrowing stories, and it was all written so well.

Lastly, I read The Stranger in the Woods by: Michael Finkel. This was a non-fiction read and it was definitely interesting and highly captivating, but at the same time it didn’t do anything for me. I don’t know I have conflicting feelings about it.

Kristin @Kristin Kraves Books posted a great recommendation post with non-fiction and fiction book pairings – this is such a clever idea!

This week stated with me seeing my two friends and we went out for pizza on Saturday night. The pizza was so good; we went to a place called Dough Box where the pizza is thin crust and oven baked, yum!

This is going up a tad early as I get ready for a lot of birthday shenanigans! πŸŽ‰

What I’m watching:

Station 19; season 5. This came back after a 2 week hiatus only to be DEVASTATINGLY SAD. They toyed with our emotions the entire episode, thinking we’re going to lose Vic but then another character ACTUALLY dies. I’m mad and sad and I’m not prepared for the next episode.

Grey’s Anatomy; season 18. This episode wasn’t as sad, but it still had sad moments as it crossed over from Station 19. Aside from the sadness, the weird vibes I’m getting from Amelia and the person in the lab, oo oo oo. I also like that we saw Karasic again and to know more people hate his guts, I mean it shouldn’t make me laugh, but it does.

Sex Education; season 1. I started this show last weekend and wow have I been missing out! I love this show, it’s so open and fun to watch. I love Otis, he’s so cute. I like the premise of the show because it’s like young people helping young people without feeling truly judged by an adult, it’s great! I love Otis and Mave as friends, I hope we don’t cross that line… but I’m sure we will. I do like the character, I think her name is Ola, I like her and Otis together.

Star Trek: Enterprise; season 1. I’m uh, still plugging away… I’m telling you 25 episode long seasons take their time… but I’m not complaining because I love the show too much. I love that the captain has a dog on ship; it’s so cute and even though we don’t see it very often I get very excited when we do. Recently he’s been in more episodes and it makes me so happy! Again, who writes this… there was a cold open where T’Pol asks Archer and Tripp about sex… it was so random and bared no relation to the rest of the episode, SO weird. I also like the bond T’Pol and Archer are forming. Hoshi is kinda frustrating me because they keep giving her big plots to show her skills but she keeps thinking she’s failing and kinda whining about it. I want her to get stronger and feel confident.

Twelve Forever; season 1. I was able to watch a few more episodes this week… this is a 25 episode long season where the episodes are only 15 minutes max and yet I still have a hard time finding time to watch this. It’s still cute, every once in a while I forget that they have one character who’s there to just shout about being, I don’t know a better way to say it other than politically correct. It’s jarring at times because it’s a kid show and she’s there just very socially aware. I mean what 12 year old says things like ‘this game is heteronormative’? I still really like the show.

What I’ve watched:

YOU; season 3. I finished this up last Friday night and w-o-w what an ending. I did not see ANY of that coming. It made sense that Love wasn’t going to make it, I could see that happening, because Joe doesn’t seem like anyone he becomes obsessed with, he stays obsessed with. So I’m curious to see where season 4 is going to go… in Paris!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine; season 6. I finished my re-watch of season 6 yay! or sorry mama megalione! I LOVE that episode and I love saying that, I say it a lot. I love rewatching the show. There was one episode where there’s a theft at Kevin’s university and he goes to Jake instead of Holt, so good.
