Review: The Museum of Heartbreak

Hi guys, happy Monday! I hope you’re all having a great start to your week. Today I’m going to be reviewing Meg Leder’s novel The Museum of Heartbreak.

The Museum of Heartbreak

The Museum of Heartbreak by: Meg Leder: When all the relationships Penelope has ever known start to crumble around her, she creates this museum with little keepsakes from different parts of her life representing different people and the different heartbreaks. This novel dives deep into the different forms of heartbreak, and it does it quite well. From your typical romantic heartbreak, to the ones you can get with your best friends or the ones with your parents and even the smaller ones in-between, this novel covered them all. The plot was fast-paced and intriguing; it took the reader on this journey through the main character, Pen’s personal museum of keepsakes that led to her heartbreak, which really tied into her character and backstory, which was really ingenuous. Each of the characters in this novel really had depth to them; none of them were two dimensional, they all had these vivid backstories that the reader felt like they could have been friends with them the way Leder created them. The writing may not have been over the top amazing, or extraordinary but this little novel really gave it it’s all and it definitely delivered. This story was cute, it made the reader feel what the characters were going through and it was a pleasure to read. It may not be happy all the time, but this was relatable and an overall good read.
