Review: The Umbrella Academy Vol. 2

Hi friends, I hope you’re all off to a good start to the week. Today I’m going to be posting my review of The Umbrella Academy Vol 2: Dallas by: Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba.

You can read my review of volume one: The Umbrella Academy Vol. 1

The Umbrella Academy Vol. 2

The Umbrella Academy Vol. 2: Dallas by: Gerard Way & Gabriel Ba: After the death of their mentor, Pogo, each member of the Umbrella Academy is distracted by their own personal problems. But when another disaster threatens to change history or destroy the world, the team has to band together to help stop it. This second volume was definitely a step up to the first. The first was an introduction to the characters and the world, this one took the characters and the world we knew and took them to new places. The plot jumped from place to place as we explored the characters deeper. Not only was there the main plot but the sub plots for each of the characters and that is really what kept the reader on their toes. The writing was wittier than before and the addition of new characters also made this a fun read. All of this really felt like we got to know who these characters are. Again, the art in this volume was so well done; it was mesmerizing to look at. Wherever this series goes, it feels like it will be a crazy ride the reader is excited to go down.
