Weekly Wrap Ups

Weekly Update #1 β„️

Hello friends, happy Friday and welcome to my first ever Weekly Update!

This year I thought I’d try something new and start a weekly update instead of a monthly update. I’m not really sure how this is going to go exactly, but I hope you’ll stick around for the ride!

Currently Reading:

On page 421
On page 148
On page 350

Night Shift: I’m 86% of the way through; I didn’t mind this week’s short story. It was really long, but entertaining.

The Return of the King: I’m 24% of the way through; I’m reading this even slower these days. I really want to get back into this soon.

Lastly, I’m reading This Savage Song by: Victoria Schwab. I have to say when I started this, I wasn’t feeling it, but it’s picking up. I like that it’s fast-paced but there’s something about the plot and characters I’m not feeling 100%.

What I’ve Read:

I’ve read (I’m including my last read of 2020 here too):

Dear Justyce (Dear Martin #2) by: Nic Stone, this was hard-hitting and just so eye opening. A must read.

Star Daughter by: Shveta Thakrar was the first book I read this year and I am SO happy I started my year with it. I loved it to pieces; it was like wearing a cozy blanket. I didn’t want it to end, but of course it had to.

Links to posts I enjoyed around the blogosphere:

Lauren @Narrative Paradise created her own greatest hits for Taylor Swift which I loved so much!
Melanie @meltotheany talks about her top five Asian books from 2020 which I loved reading; definitely adding books to my TBR!
Daniella @Reading With Daniella created a mood board for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and I am IN love!
Karla @Another Bookworm showed off her reading journal and it’s so pretty and creative!
Simone @Simone and Her Books talked about her rating system and I enjoyed reading it because I felt it was close to my own!

We’ve made it through the first week of 2021! Woof, what a week it’s been. It felt so long. From personally, work being tough to globally, the world just sucking, it’s been a long week. I can only hope that next week will be better.

A few positives from this week:
– my co-worker and friend was back online after her holidays and it was nice to connect with her again 😊
– the yarn I bought to start my blanket came in and I’m very excited!

I’m also going to use this space to just quickly talk about what I’m watching/watched.

I started season 4 of The Crown and I can see why it got so much hype when it first aired. I’m definitely enjoying it, I honestly don’t remember other seasons being so scandalous.

I decided (because I don’t have enough going on in my life πŸ˜…) to start re-watching One Tree Hill from the beginning. I’m only 7 episodes in and I was conflicted about going back to this world because it was 2018 or 2019 where the show creator had sexual accusations against him and it just tainted the show for me. But I have to say… I find it really cozy to be back.

I’m continuing my re-watch of Gilmore Girls. I started season 4 over the weekend and I’m excited to really dive into the college years.

I watched the movie Cat’s Eye which is based off of two Stephen King short stories, and for the most part it was pretty good.

Lastly, I watched Children of the Corn the 1984 movie based on the King short story, which was good.

I’m going to end these wrap ups with my Instagram posts of the week… this is going to make my posts look longer than they are because I can’t change the size of the image/links.

  2. I’m really loving this weekly update! Thank you so much for featuring my post! I was a little self-conscious about my drawing skills so it means a lot! Also I have to catch up on the Crown and see what all the hype is about! Can’t wait to see the results of your knitting yarn! I loved the colours! πŸ’•
